More reading stats: Q1 Goals

How is everyone doing with their goals now that we are a quarter of the way through 2014?

26/100 for me. 2 ahead of schedule! I thought my goal of 100 was extremely lofty with a toddler, but I've surprised myself! Though, with the exception of the local news and The Nightly New with Brian Williams, my TV watching is non existent. WORTH IT!

36/100 here! I am excited, 100 is my highest goal yet and it's looking very possible. I'm going to have less reading time this summer though as DH is not taking classes and might actually want to hang out with me in the evenings instead of doing homework.

I'm at 19/50 and according to GR, I'm 7 books ahead of schedule. I set my goal low because I wasn't sure how much reading I could get in with Julia but I'm doing pretty well so far. I'm sure I'll up my goal at some point but I don't want to get ahead of myself.

15/60 which puts me 1 book ahead of schedule....This was my first time setting a number goal for myself so I wasn't sure how it would go. Thus far I'm quite pleased. I should have a lot more time to read once April is over so I may end up increasing the goal but I'm definitely going to wait a while before I make that decision!

I'm at 57 for the year, and had put 100 as my goal (so I'm 33% ahead). I was thinking of revising my goal but I have several large hardcover books that I've been putting off starting because I don't want to carry them around. I'm hoping I'll go through at lease one of these during my maternity leave.

I must admit, getting a Kindle for Christmas has really made me read a LOT more.

18/75 and right on track according to Goodreads. I've been kinda in a rut but hopefully a few cheerful books and some sunshine will take care of that

40/100 which is 16 books ahead of schedule. I'm trying to meet my goal early since I'm expecting a baby bookworm in late August, and I know my reading will slow down or stop for a while.

I've had some crazy insomnia lately. The majority of things at my house have been getting done at 3am.

@RiverPlate. That was me when I was pregnant! I was doing laundry, dishes, you name it in the middle of the night. DH worked nights so I didn't have to worry about bothering him. Now though, I really just need the sleep...

@packfan20 - right? There just gets to be a point where I figure I'm already awake, I might as well do something instead of staring at the ceiling. The insomnia gets worse with pregnancy though. When I was pregnant with my oldest I learned how to knit by watching youtube videos in the middle of the night.

Also, when my son was an infant, I got a ton of reading done. I was always having to sit down to feed or rock him and I'd usually read during feedings. Now that he's a toddler I'm always having to get up to chase him and am not reading as much.

Good point! I'll make sure to keep my Kindle handy for feedings. I really have no idea what to expect since it's my first baby, so it's nice to hear you were able to find reading time!

Definitely this! I got so much reading done while feeding DD or when she wanted to sleep being held.

I read 13/25. I may increase my goal but not sure because I'm due in July with my second and not not sure how much I'll get to read with a newborn and toddler.
