Happy Friday! What are you reading?
Re: Happy Friday! What are you reading?
my read shelf:
I'm reading The Book of Lost Things by John Connoly. I like it a lot so far, but I'm only on page 35. I just finished Citadel by Kate Mosse, and I love it.
@jkfranklin, did you know that Tahereh Mari and Ransom Riggs are married?
my read shelf:
It's only #9 out of 52 for the year. I'm crazy behind.
52 Books in 2014??

My sweet babies:

I'm reading This is a Call: The Life and Times of Dave Grohl. I just got to the Nirvana period a day or two ago, and now I can't put it down. Everything for him and for the band happened so fast, and I feel like the writing is keeping pace, and I'm really enjoying it now. Conversely, the first third of the book was more about the "times" than the "life" of Dave Grohl as a teenager, and I got a really nice overview of the development of punk rock and hardcore throughout the 80s, and how that lead up to the alt rock thing in the early 90s, but meh. Like I said the other day, I was biased against this one from the start, because there's something about a biography of someone who's still young and doing awesome stuff that doesn't sit right with me.
These are numbers 16 and 17 for the year.
Sugar & Spice
Gone with the Wind ( Margaret Mitchell) is my lunchtime at work book- not very far in, but I love the writing!
A Casual Vacancy (J.K. Rowling) is my audiobook on my commute- almost done, and it's heavy. I wonder if listening to it, hearing someone say some of the awful things that happen, makes it heavier for me than if I were reading it.
A Heart So While (Javier Marias) is my 1001 Books You Must Read book of the moment- it'll go fast, but I'm not sure I like it.
I'm currently working on:
Funny Cide (audio) - almost done with it...I was bawling at one point in the car today (happy tears) due to the book
Eleanor and Park (finally!) I'm hoping to make a significant dent in it this weekend
Washington: A Life...slow but good going
These are 16, 17, and 18 for the year and two of them will be for SBC
