AF Late, yet BFN! UPDATE: BFP?

edited April 2014 in Getting Pregnant
I am so lost... AF hasn't shown up yet. According to FF she was due Friday. Now, here it is MOnday, and still nothing. I have taken a test every day since and they are all BFN. Not even a faint line or anything... I am trying to just wait and see, but wtf? I haven't really been late in a very long time. FF has been pretty on it the last 6 months. Whatcha all think? I don't want to get excited since it could be nothing... Hmmmm

Re: AF Late, yet BFN! UPDATE: BFP?

  • Could you link in your chart?  The one in your siggy brings me to tinypic.

It's possible you O'd later than FF is thinking.

  • I could have, but I would still be CD28 today... I'll try to link my chart... It seems to not like me sometimes... Lol

  • So many things can contribute.

Have you been sick at all? It's been a horrendous month for things like cold and flu. If you're sick that can mess up your cycle.

Stress can also have a big impact.

If you're seriously worried, call your doc, but I'd give it some time still.

    Sorry you're stuck in limbo.

  • @looneylife Well FF has been pretty good on when AF is due. Last month she really had it on the money. Starting a lot sooner than I would have ever thought. But ok.

  • Sorry, but temping is the only way to know when/if you truly O'd or not.  My Dr says a "normal" cycle is anywhere from 25-45 days. Not everyone ovulates on CD14 and gets a period on CD28. There are many factors that can change up your cycle from one month to the next.  The only way you will know for sure what's going on is if you're temping.

  • My money is on that you O'd later than normal. Remember, temping is really the only way to confirm ovulation with the temp shift. OPKs only detect the LH surge that *usually* accompanies ovulation.

It's annoying to wait, but give it another week and if no AF, take another test! Best of luck, cloudy! hang in there!
  • I'm one of those people with super-regular cycles, but a couple times a year I am off by a couple days.  Could just be late ovulation, or any number of other things.

  • If you're not temping, it's not gonna be possible to tell you if AF is late or not. Sorry! :( Hopefully she shows up soon (or you get a bfp)

T-TTC since Dec 2008. PCOS/nonexistant cycles(anovulation) and endo. HSG in '10 revealed both tubes blocked. Lap surgery in Dec '10 to correct. Failed Clomid/IUI and injectable(Bravelle)/IUI cycles so far.

  • What @looneylife said. You've been around long enough to know that temping is the only way to know for sure.
  • I'm with Nfp... Usually my cycles are exactly 28 days, but a few times a year they'll go to around 30-31 days. Then, the following cycle is "normal" again. As PP's have already indicated, temping is going to be the only way to know for sure.
