What's your average GR rating?

There's been a lot of talk about how you rate books the last few days…I was just curious to see what others have as an average rating. I've rated 497 books with an average rating of 3.49.

177 ratings with an average of 3.78. I don't rate books I abandon though, I shelve them separately. My average would probably be a big lower if I rated them.

My average rating is a 5 because I don't feel comfortable publicly critiquing books anymore, but I have to tell you about an email I received last year. Someone from GR had contacted me asking for an ARC. Out of curiosity, I clicked on their profile and saw that their average rating was a 2!

Um...dude.

I don't distribute galleys, but even if I did, why would I give one to somebody who hates the overwhelming majority of what they read?

I think it's because I haven't used Goodreads for very long, and all of the stuff I rated when I joined were things that I remembered really liking.

135 with a 4.3 average. I also blame NBC for all the fabulous recs. Plus since I only joined less than a year ago most of those were books I had read years ago that really stuck with me and most of them were a 5.

It took me a minute to find it too. Go to your profile and both numbers (total ratings and average) show up right under your picture on the left side.

Like pp, I don't rate books I abandon but put them on a "might come back to but doubtful shelf". I also get most of my recs here so I'm sure to like them!
