  • @zamboni00, being a twin myself, you'd think I'd already know this stuff, but how do they tell on u/s what type of twins they are?

  • @LuckyAngel07 I've been doing a bit of research :) they will hopefully be able to tell if they are mono/mono, mono/di, or di/di.

    In other words do they share an amniotic sac and/or placenta. If they share both (mono/mono) or just a placenta (mono/di) that means they are definitely identical. If they share nothing (di/di) it could mean they are identical or fraternal.

    The real reason to find out what is going on is because there are risks that are present with mono/mono or mono/di that aren't there with Di/di- not to figure out if they are identical or fraternal- but that would be nice :)

    Does that make sense?

    Makes lots of sense! I never knew those things about twins in utero. :) Hope the u/s goes well!
