Re: Wacky Wednesday

  • 1) What is your dream vacation? I would love, love, love to go back to Hawaii. If we're talking about somewhere I've never been, Australia is high on the bucket list.
    2) Where was your last vacation? Cocoa Beach, FL for a weekend
    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to? We're going to a friend's wedding OOT in September. The next big vacation will probably be Disney in the fall of 2015.
  • 1) What is your dream vacation? (Money and logistics are not a problem, but reality is - i.e. No Hogwarts)  Ireland and Scotland.  Also, Egypt.  I want to see Giza.
    2) Where was your last vacation? Charleston with @Lauren620.  Before that was my honeymoon.  J is a staycation type of person.
    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to? Nope. J knows I want to go to Europe some day and he's on board, but we'll wait until Wes is a little older and I feel comfortable leaving him for a week or more.

  • 1) France....I studied French all through HS and college yet I've never been anywhere that they actually speak it (Quebec included).

    2) My husband and I went out to Deep Creek Lake in Maryland for 3 days last summer which is what totally got us hooked on stand up paddleboarding! Can't wait for the end of April so we can get the boards out again :)

    3) This summer we are hoping to get away for 4 days and go to the Kentucky Horse Park (for me) and the National Corvette Museum (for him). This will be immediately after we take our written comprehensive exams for our degrees so we will definitely need a few days off :)
  • 1) What is your dream vacation? Adventure vacation in Australia and NZ.
    2) Where was your last vacation? Our last vacation was a week at the cottage in Muskoka last summer. Our last vacation out of the country was to The Exumas in late 2011.
    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to? Nothing solidly planned yet but we'd like to do something in the fall. Probably Disney.

  • 1) What is your dream vacation? (Money and logistics are not a problem, but reality is - i.e. No Hogwarts) I would love to explore all of Europe. I am dying to go to Italy, Spain, Austria, and Prague (that might be it for the Czech Republic), but there are so many more places I want to go. So I would just start at the top and make my way through Europe for as long as it takes for me to see all that I want to see.
    2) Where was your last vacation? A week in London and Amsterdam was my last big vacation, but I've done some weekend trips since then to Charleston with @SnShne322 and San Diego.
    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to? I always have some sort of getaway unofficially planned. I'll be in Orlando next weekend for a wedding and I am trying to get some long weekends in Boston, Denver, and Nashville on the calendar sometime this year. As far as a big vacation, I am holding out for MH's work trip to Greece this summer before I plan for anything else. It isn't a definite yet, so if it falls through we're talking about the British Virgin Islands since neither of us have been. MH really wants to go to Alaska, so that might be another option too. I really want to go to Greece though.

Travel and vacationing are some of my favorite things!

    2) Where was your last vacation? Our honeymoon to the British Virgin Islands in 2012.
    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to? Not planned yet, but our next BIG vacation will be to Aruba with friends in 2017.  We will take small trips in between, most likely to Michigan to see my family (so not really a vacation). Also, I travel a lot for work and H sometimes comes with. We plan to take a few extra days in Seattle in October when I go for work.

  • 1) What is your dream vacation? (Money and logistics are not a problem, but reality is - i.e. No Hogwarts) Europe.  I've been to four countries but I really want to go to Greece, Switzerland and Ireland.  And Italy and Norway.  And all the other countries too.  :)
    2) Where was your last vacation? We were up at my family's cabin in Wisconsin for a week last August.
    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to? :)This is the first year in forever that we haven't had a set vacation planned.  I'm bummed.  Our trip to Phoenix fell through and now DH's work schedule this summer doesn't give us much time to get away.  But DH did take off the week of Memorial Day so we might split that between some time around home and a few days up at the cabin.

    1) What is your dream vacation? (Money and logistics are not a problem, but reality is - i.e. No Hogwarts)  Being left alone in my house with all my books and cats for about a month with no chores or work.

    2) Where was your last vacation?  I don't really do vacations.  I don't travel well.    I am a homebody.

    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Nope. Where to?

I am probably the only person I know who hates to travel.  I hate flying, I hate packing, I hate not being able to cook when I want to cook, I hate not being with my cats, I hate fluffy hotel pillows, I start climbing the walls after about 2 days away from my home.  I can't relax on vacations.

  • 1) What is your dream vacation? (Money and logistics are not a problem, but reality is - i.e. No Hogwarts)   I would really like to go to Tahiti or Fiji. I've always wanted to go to the BVIs as well. I am always up to go just about anywhere really.

    2) Where was your last vacation? Camping in Cherrystone, VA. Nothing too exciting or exotic by all means, but tons of fun.

    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to?  We'll be heading to Cherrystone again in late July. A ton of DH's family all tries to go on the same week so it is lots of fun. Next year will probably be a trip to Disney with the kiddo.

  • 1) What is your dream vacation? (Money and logistics are not a problem, but reality is - i.e. No Hogwarts)

There are so many- at the top of my list I'd love to go somewhere tropical (Hawaii, Bahamas, Fiji....) and I really want to go to Europe, specifically Austria and France, then maybe Scotland, Spain, and Germany among others.

    2) Where was your last vacation?

We spent the weekend in San Francisco. Living on the edge, lol.

    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to?

We're planning to go to Hawaii when DH gets back from deployment. No details yet though.

  • 1) What is your dream vacation? (Money and logistics are not a problem, but reality is - i.e. No Hogwarts)  I have a whole 3 week thing in Europe all planned out in my head.  Scotland (highlands), England (London and south coast), France (Normandy and Paris) and Holland (Amsterdam and biking the nearby countryside).

    2) Where was your last vacation?  I don't even remember the last time I went on a proper vacation.  Does a weekend in Killington with the girls count?

    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to?  Nope.  We will probably go to DC for a weekend to visit my brother, but I have no "real" vacations planned for quite some time.
  • 1. Dream vacation: A week in one of those huts in the South Pacific (any island...I'm not picky) that's built right on the water. Bonus points if it has a glass panel in the floor and a waterslide from the second floor. (The Kardashians vacationed in a house like this, but I don't know where it was.)

    2. My last vacation: DH stayed home, and I took the kids to Orlando for spring break. Ordinarily I wouldn't do that, but it was sunny there and freezing in Ohio. A no-brainer.

    3. Next vacation: A family trip to the beach in August.

  • @SusieBW I want to bike through the countryside in Holland too! I am too scared to ride a bike in Amsterdam, but outside of the city would be amazing.

  • 1) What is your dream vacation? (Money and logistics are not a problem, but reality is - i.e. No Hogwarts) This is hard because there's so many places I want to see like Argentina, Peru, Scotland, Australia, Maldives, etc.

    2) Where was your last vacation? Germany and Italy

    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to?  YEP!!!  I'm going to Greece, Portugal, and the Azores.

  • 1) What is your dream vacation? (Money and logistics are not a problem, but reality is - i.e. No Hogwarts) There are so many places I want to go.  Russia, Europe, the Galapagos Island.  It's hard to choose just one.

    2) Where was your last vacation? Chicago.  It's a couple hours from where I grew up and we met up with my family there.

    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to? We're taking a long weekend in Williamsburg in August, and I think we are going to try to go to Disney for New Year's, but that hasn't evolved past the idea phase.

  • 1) My dream vacation would be wine tasting through France. And Italy. And then eating my way through Greece.

    2) My last vacation was in March for 10 days of (baseball) Spring training in Arizona.

    3) We are going to Disney and Dodger Stadium in three weeks. We only planned two and half days in Disney and then one game, and I'm regretting that. The upside is we get a few days of a staycation, and then 4 days away, so it's sort of the best of both worlds. We will also head down to San Diego in late summer or fall to catch a Padres game, and maybe back to AZ for a Diamondbacks game. Our vacations are almost always baseball related and we like it that way. When they aren't baseball, they are Disney, ad we like that, too.

  • 1) What is your dream vacation? (Money and logistics are not a problem, but reality is - i.e. No Hogwarts)  You can rent cottages on Balmoral Estate in Scotland as long as the Royal family isn't in residence.  I plan on doing this some day.

    2) Where was your last vacation?  We just did an overnight to Gettysburg.  It's our home away from home.

    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to?  Nothing big.  I think we may head up to Lake George next month for a couple of days.

    1) What is your dream vacation? (Money and logistics are not a problem, but reality is - i.e. No Hogwarts) England or a week at the coast. Just me and my books.

    2) Where was your last vacation? Vegas in Feb. My son was in a competition so I went with him. DH and the younger two stayed home. I guess that counts as vacation. ;)

    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Not yet but probably a family thing in the summer.
Eta: I'd really like to attend one of the big book festivals sometime in my lifetime, LA or NYC.

  • 1) What is your dream vacation? (Money and logistics are not a problem, but reality is - i.e. No Hogwarts)  Taking a cruise through the Panama Canal (or if it could even be considered a vacation, a 5-6 month walk through the woods and doing the Appalachian Trail)
    2) Where was your last vacation? Our anniversary trip last month camping in Harpers Ferry.  we went hiking and biked some along the C&O
    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to? Depending on what we are able to do first, it will either be a 4-6 day journey biking and camping along the C&O or it will be a primitive living skills gathering in June down in NC.  If those are considered vacations (it is quite a bit of roughing it and not much relaxing), there will the yearly inlaw cabin vacation in August.  But I don't really consider that much of a vacation either.

We went to Ohio to visit my family last summer, but that's not really vacation-y, so I guess Universal in Orlando in 2010 3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to? We're going to DC in August

  • 1) What is your dream vacation? The only international travel I'd really like to do would be England/Ireland/Scotland.  I also want to hit all 50 states eventually.

    2) Where was your last vacation? We visited family (and @booneybear, @mrsjene and @myjunegirls !!!) in Boston/NH/Maine over Thanksgiving.

    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to? OMG... this is my summer:
    1. (hopefully!!!) NYC long weekend at the end of May
    2. Big family reunion at a cabin in WI in June, followed by two weeks at my parents' in Nashville
    3. Mexican cruise for BFF's 30th birthday in July
    4. Long weekend at a cabin in Northern AZ with friends in August

  • 1) What is your dream vacation? (Money and logistics are not a problem, but reality is - i.e. No Hogwarts)  For me it would either be a month long road trip around Europe or a tour of Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji.
    2) Where was your last vacation?  It was a Southwest road trip with stops in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Texas.
    3) Do you have your next vacation planned? Where to?  No set plans, but we are going to Natick, MA for a week sometime this summer.
  • 1)  Australia followed closely by a return trip to Hawaii.

    2)  Chicago Area

    3)  We are going back to the Outer Banks in about a month!  :)  Just the four of us... I can't wait!  We have never gone of vacation with just our immediate family.
