  • I'm irrationally annoyed at the differences between Silver lining's Playbook book versus the movie.  The movie might have been enjoyable if I hadn't read the book, but everything was SO different that I couldn't enjoy it at all.  I went on a 20 minute rant last night.  J just nodded and smiled, but he let me get it all out.  What a good guy.

I ordered 2 dozen roses for my mom for Mother's Day from Today Show's Jill's Steals and Deals page. The flowers were $27.99. Shipping was $14.99. My rage at the utterly ridiculous cost of shipping nearly made me scrap the whole order.

  • I'm tired of needing warning before people come over or being embarrassed by whatever mess there may be when friends come by unexpectedly. So I've been spending this week doing deep cleaning around the house. And once the week is over and the whole house is clean, I'll start on Monday with a chore chart. No more doing "power cleans" because people are coming over for dinner. I want a clean house!

  • I upped the reps on my leg workout this week and my ass/glutes hurts so bad.  I'm basically groaning at every movement.  My legs are fine but apparently I have weak butt muscles.

  • The only thing that got me to go to the gym this morning was knowing that if I didn't go, I wouldn't have been able to finish "If I Stay".  So I got my ass out of bed and went to the gym just so I could read.

This is literally the only thing that ever gets me to the gym.

I had this problem too. For the first time basically ever I saw the movie before I read the book, though, so I actually for the first time ever found myself liking the movie better. I think if I had read the book first I would've liked it better. They were just so different. It's the same way that I felt about PS I love You.

  • I don't know what deep cleaning is.  There's cleaning, and there's picking up stuff and putting it away.  I'm not sure what the different degrees of cleaning are.

@MrsC7 I totally would have cancelled the order.  Shipping in general makes me stabby.  I happily spend an extra $20 to save $10 on shipping all the time.

I finished If I Stay at the gym. Big mistake. I was a blubbering mess on the treadmill - I had to stop walking and sob for a good ten minutes with my head on the dash. @hoycie was there with me and she totally got it.
Luckily when I am there at 4:30 am the gym is dark and there are hardly any people around.

  • I'm really pissed off at work right now.  I went to my department head at the beginning of the year and mentioned that I wanted to create a Film and Literature class for our school.  I totally had his backing.  We then shared the idea with one of the assistant principals and he too was willing to back it.  After looking at numbers of students it was decided that I would need to wait on the class because it would make other class sizes too big, but in the meantime, I should keep gathering materials, write a syllabus, etc., so that I could be ready when the time comes that I can teach it.  Well, I was told yesterday that I wouldn't be teaching the class (that was my idea), but another teacher was going to get to teach it.  That alone pissed me off, but to make things worse, the teacher who gets to teach it also happens to be married to the assistant principal mentioned above.  Favoritism much?!  Needless to say, I'm pissed off.  Even the head of the English department is upset about it because this isn't the first time where the wife has received preferential treatment.  Maybe it's time we talk to HR about it.

  • Our personnel clerk is out today and everyone in the department is calling me to help them. I haven't done that job in 1.5 years and have gotten two promotions since then. Why the eff are you still calling me??? I have other things to do. I'm ready to punch some people in the throat.

  • That's how I feel.... if she's going to steal my idea, she better do her own work.  It just sucks because I was so excited for this class and now feel like I've been slapped in the face.  The department head and I are talking about what we need to do.

I guess we do everything except for moving furniture on a regular basis.  I'll pass the vaccuum under the couch and stuff, but behind bookshelves and stuff I don't even want to know.

We don't have curtains, just blinds, and those get washed/dusted every other week as part of the regular routine.  My cabinets go to the ceiling, so I don't have to dust up there.  What a PITA that would be!  I only wash windows when they have fingerprints (more likely dog noseprints) on them.

I work in a school as well - I would go to HR with this.  I would also not share your syllabus or any of the materials that you have put together.  If she is going to teach the class, she can put the work into it.
Agreed.  I would not share my hard work with someone else!
