What Stephen King book should I read?
So I decided for the SBC read a book I'm the 1970's, I'd pick a Stephen King book. I have never read any of his books, so which one does NBC suggest.

Re: What Stephen King book should I read?
I voted for Carrie. It's a good, fast read that is a good SK intro. The Stand is one of my all-time favorite books, and I think that the time allotted for SBC doesn't warrant it the kind of reading it really needs. I've read it twice, and it took me at least a month, probably more, each time.
ETA: I usually recommend his short stories for SK newbies, or people who want to read SK but don't want to take on a thousand-plus page book. Everything's Eventual is, in my opinion, the best of his short story collections.
