Happy Friday!! What are you reading?

Re: Happy Friday!! What are you reading?

  • The Girl who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of her own Making - I'm really enjoying this one. It's "meant" for middle grade readers, but I love that it isn't "dumbed" down.  The writing is lush, and appeals to both children and adults. Originally, this was a web novel - published one chapter at a time. This lends it to being a great book to read aloud with your kids.  If you love Alice in Wonderland, you'll love this one!

A Hidden Witch (Book 2 in the Modern Witch series) - This is for the Book Lottery. These books are so easy to read. If you need a brain break from violence and cruelty, these are the books for you. Very likeable characters and although they may be witches, their problems are very "real life".  I'm enjoying this one, as well!

#19 and #20 for the year.

Listening to The Fall of the Giants. Who knows when I will finish that tome. I am really enjoying it. It's just long!
I adored that and Winter of the World on audio!  ITA that they are super long, and will take over your life for a while, but totally worth it.  I hope you love that series as much as I did.  I can not wait for the third book!

They say Den-uh, which is how I've always pronounced it in my head.

Reading Dreams of Gods and Monsters and loving it but haven't had the energy to read more than a chapter or two each night (which is probably a good thing... stretch out the end!).

Listening to The Keepsake by Tess Gerritson.  I randomly grabbed this at the library as a fill in while waiting for another audio hold to come in and I am surprised at how mush I am into it!  I love the characters and the mystery has me so enthralled.  I plan on starting back at the beginning of this series and using them as my car reads for the rest of the school year.

Ah, good, thanks.  People always want to spell my name with two Ns, and in my head it sounds like Den-uh when you spell it that way, meaning that it's stupid to spell my name (Deena) with two Ns.
