Our first date...

We met online. We had been talking for a few weeks before we decided to meet. He came down to my college. We ate on campus then went to the mall and then to a movie. We saw White Noise. I don't know if I would say it was love at first sight...I was definitely smitten with him. Not sure how to describe it exactly but it just felt very natural with him...like we had known each other our whole lives. He pretty much lived in my dorm room for the rest of the semester and then we moved in together that summer.

We met through a mutual friend, aka - my ex. I had no interest at first because a) I was dating the ex and he had a gf b) we were totally different people back then c) I never looked twice b/c I figured he was outta my league. We would chat on AOL occasionally, mostly about the ridic things his then ex was doing. Years later, after I broke up with another guy, I called the ex to go hang out (we had broken up but had stayed very good friends so this wasn't weird). He brought DH along and for some reason, at that time we just clicked and have been inseparable since. Not sure of our first date.. was either square dancing or racquetball or IHOP and star-gazing at the park. It was sometime in January 04 (or maybe late Dec 03? I have no idea). We were engaged in July of that year and married the following March

I'm late to the party but I'll share my story.

We met randomly online in a Live Journal community, in July of 2006. someone in a teaching community I was in shared a comic strip from Pearls Before Swine, I thought I was commenting in the teaching community, but the link led me directly to the comic community and I had never seen it before and had a lot of loyal fans commenting on my comment. He replied to one of my comments saying he grew up in NYC (where I was teaching at the time) and that his dad had been a teacher. We wound up chatting online a lot and eventually talking on the phone before he invited me to a camping weekend in September (It was not just the 2 of us- there were 50-60 people there-basically like an adult summer camp!!). I took the train up (about a 3.5 hr trip). It was a really fun weekend- we kissed- a lot

. After that we talked on the phone every day, and saw each other every other weekend, until I finished teaching and had to move back to Canada. Then we jumped through all of the immigration hoops (sometimes not seeing each other for 2 months t a time) and now here we are having been married 5 years!

Oh I love telling this story:) We met online. I was away with friends for the weekend where i was the 5th wheel with my two good friends and their serious boyfriends. i remember sitting on the beach crying. Little did i know that God had already answered my prayers. When i got home there was a 3 day old message on facebook from some stranger saying he saw my profile on match.com. (i hadn't paid and hadn't been on in months). I looked over his profile and replied figuring i had nothing to lose. We talked daily for the next week and a half before we met up for our first date. Honestly he was so charming just talking to him i was already falling hard. It was totally love at first sight for both of us. We went out to dinner at an italian restaurant, then we went ice skating-in august. then we went up to Dunkin donuts for coffee and we hung out by his car talking and listening to music for hours. He had a romantic playlist set up on his ipod for the occasion and we had our first kiss to the song "kiss me". We were out so late that his car battery died and he had to walk up to the drive in to ask someone to come jump it. lol. the next day i got inta a small car accident and my car was totalled. He was the first one i called. He came immediately and every single day he was my cheaffer... driving to pick me up at work 30 minutes away... Three days later he officially told me he loved me. I was terrified to admit it but i knew i felt the same way. No one in my family expected it to last because it was too quick and it couldnt be real. But we just knew we were meant to be.. we knew it right away. That will be 6 years this august. Time flies. He really is my other half and my best friend.
