Happy Friday! What are you reading?

So how do you like it so far? Is it for any of the challenges? Happy weekend all!

Re: Happy Friday! What are you reading?

  • Last night I started The Atlantis Plague by A.G. Riddle. Too soon to tell how I like it (but I did enjoy the first book in the trilogy- The Atlantis Gene, so hopefully I like this one too). It's #32 for the year.

Before that I finished Sybil by Flora Rheta Schreiber and found it fascinating. I did a little online reading about it afterwards and found the controversy about the book and dissociative identity disorder fascinating as well.

I'm reading Labor Day...It's for the challenge. It's alright so far. I'm not sure I liked the writing style, it's taking me a little bit to get used to. It's more like ramblings than complete thoughts and paragraphs. But that plot is starting to get more interesting.

  • I'm still listening to Drums of Autumn.  I think I have 18 hours left.  I will be picking up the 4th book in the Parasol Protectorate series from the library today.  I think I will also start a YA book - To All the Boys I've Loved Before.

I finished A Feast for Crows last night so the only book I have going is Twisted which is a Pretty Little Liars book and I will finish that today too.  I might pick up the first Harry Potter today and start the reread that I've been wanting to do.

I'm downloading The Rowan on audio at the moment.  I am finishing up Dragonseye on Kindle.  I've been on a Pern binge lately.

  • I'm reading Reached (matched #2) and still reading The Wolf of Wall Street. I pretty much hate both of them.

With Reached, I feel like there are parts of the story missing or I'm forgetting stuff because she will reference something like I'm supposed to know what the back story behind it is and I'm just like huh?

TWoWS is just dull. It's basically about how he is struggling to hide his illegally obtained money that he doesn't really need because he already can afford to spend $300,000 on a comforter. I'm so sad for your FWP...

I just started listening to Outlander so there's that.

    Sorry this got so long.

  • I just finished up We Were Liars by E. Lockhart around midnight (stayed up too late reading!). It was a quick and engaging read. Today I'm planning to start To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han on my lunch break.

I'm at 67 books read toward my goal of 100. I may or may not up my goal once I reach it. I'm in the middle of a read-a-thon blog event, so I'm reading like crazy this week!

    I am still reading
Toll the Hounds by Steven Erikson. I took a break to read the most recent five Demonica books, which overall I liked.

This trilogy is high on my list! I hadn't realized the last one had been published. I try to read YA trilogies all at once, so I do not have to wait.

I'm listening to Kitty and the Midnight Hour (Kitty Norville #1).  I just started it this morning so I have no opinion yet. #41

I'm reading Decision Points. I started this book awhile back but set it aside for other things.

  • I'm finally reading Timeless, it is #63 for the year, I didn't want to the series to be over so I'm finally reading it and of course I love it.

I'm also reading Panic, it is #64 for the year, the concept is really interested and it keeps me interested.

I just started listening to Dark Places, it is #65 for the year and I really have no opinion yet.

Um, @jkfranklin , Reached is the third book, not the second.  Did you skip Crossed?  If so, that's why info is missing.

  • I am reading two books right now which is unusual for me.  I've got a collection of short stories calle Dangerous Women that has stories from DG, GRRM, Lev Grossman, and other fantasy writers.  It's enormous, so I am also reading The Bride Wore Size 12.  That one is smaller and easier to manage while reading in the tub or on the treadmill.

Oh, good!  I had a student at my last job who was told that Mockingjay was the second book and she was all confused (and mad at the person who told her wrong) because she had accidentally skipped Catching Fire.  :-D

I'm reading Roots by Alex Haley and This Is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper. They are both for the challenge.

I am absolutely loving This Is Where I Leave You ... I'm over half way through and unless something drastic happens I will give it 5 stars!

I also started Dark Places, but I'll probably finish WYGB before I pick it up again.
