Thursday Randoms

I get annoyed when I can see that someone has read my text messages, but doesn't reply.  I'm a little bit of a hypocrite, but at least I don't actually open the text to mark it read until I'm ready to reply.

I refuse to let anyone see when I've read their texts.  I've set it so that no one can tell.

I didn't even know someone could tell if I read their texts or not.  I'm going to have to turn that feature off on my phone pronto.  I ignore texts on a regular basis.  :-@

I haven't set mine that way yet. Laziness at it's best.  But at least I don't have to know that you're putting me off. Ignorance is bliss sometimes, I think.

  • I hate read receipts at work. I always say no when prompted. I've also fixed it so I never send read receipts.

I have pretty much stopped texting. Apparently my phone doesn't always send the texts through. So I never have any idea if they are ignoring me or didn't get my text. I also don't receive all texts. So they may think I am ignoring them. I can't wait to get a new phone.

I love read receipts for certain assholes who never reply.  I only attach it to theirs though, not everyone.

I woke up with that Justin Timberlake song Mirrors stuck in my head.  So I DLed it this morning and have now listened to it at least 10 times today.  Obsessed.

Also, I have no idea how to tell if someone has read my texts or not.  I see the thing that says "delivered" - does that mean they read it, or just that it successfully went to their phone?

Went the their phone.  You can set yours up so that when you've read your message it doesn't change it to read.  That's what @MrsJenE was talking about and what I'm guessing the people you are sending yours to have done.

ETA: I only know this for iPhones, I'm not sure if it's the same way for others.

  • Turns out I have my read receipts off.  Who knew?

I think it's interesting how polarizing cell phones have become.  At this point I can't see myself ever owning a Droid and I know a lot of Droid users feel that way about iPhones.

  • My MIL has recently retired and has been spending a lot of time with us, mostly to see Wes.  The other night, she came by.  Wes had just finished dinner and as I was taking him to the bathroom to wash his peanut butter covered hands and he tried to grab a book.  He didn't like that he couldn't have it so he had a tantrum.  The tantrum involved him not wanting to stand on his stool to wash his hands.

I got an email from my MIL last night that she's dropping off a different stool that she picked up for him because she thinks he's afraid of stepping on the stool that we have.  She bought a wider one.  No, he just had a toddler meltdown.  He's used this stool for over a month just fine, in fact he carries it around with him.

I love this woman, but she's becoming a little overbearing since she retired.  I won't accept this newer stool because she's decided that a tantrum is him terrified of a stool.

There are things I miss about my old droid sometimes (like how much more customizable it was), but I don't ever see myself going back.  There are too many things I prefer about my iPhone.

Also, My ILS are the best in the whole wide world.

Last week I mentioned that I wanted to buy Liam a pair of red Sperrys for the summer. Anthony came home with a pair of red Sperrys from my MIL yesterday. They ALWAYS do this. The second we say we need something for Liam, the next day they're out buying it for him. I love how much they love our kid.

Ya I despise talking on the phone. Hate it with a passion. So I use Fb messages and bbm when necessary (only to message mh).
This phone sucks for making calls on. It is the worst phone ever. I can't wait till I get a job and can start saving for a new phone. Iphone here I come.

Some days, I laugh when I'm referred to as "That lady in HR" followed by a sneer.

That exact same thing drives me crazy by my ILs. She yells at me telling me not to buy anything for Alex. Apparently I have no right to buy my son things. She is the only one allowed to. If she was nice about it and actually listened to what he needs it wouldn't bother me so much. If I said I wanted Red Sperrys for Alex she would buy him brown ones or sandals.

My ILs do this too.  I'm sort of at the opposite end of the spectrum of appreciation.  I don't mind it every now and then, but it's too much sometimes.

I get that a lot too.  People don't like me sometimes because I tell them to stop buying stupid shit and to follow procedure.  I'm the unfun lady.
