*~*Getting Healthy Check-In*~*

I'm starting, or rather restarting, this thread because I think it's pretty useful and relevant for a lot of ladies on GP. Whether you are really into fitness or really AREN'T and need lots of motivation, this thread will be where we can commisserate and provide support and can celebrate your successes!

1) What are your fitness goals?

2) How has your progress been this week?

3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)?

4) Best part of your week?

5) Worst part of your week?

QOTW: How do you celebrate your scale or non-scale victories?

  • 1) What are your fitness goals? Cook healthy meals at home more often and get more into exercise. Ideally, I would drop 10+ lbs in the process, but I'm not focusing on my weight.

    2) How has your progress been this week? Not bad. I've done some emotional eating and skipped one day of working out, but otherwise I've done well.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? A minimum of 4 dinners/week cooked at home that include lots of veggies, and working out for at least 20 minutes every day.

    4) Best part of your week? We had a couple good healthy dinners, I guess? Nothing special.

    5) Worst part of your week? I've been so tired. I can't seem to get on a good schedule since MDW.

QOTW: How do you celebrate your scale or non-scale victories? New workout clothes, equipment, classes, etc.

    1) What are your fitness goals? Lose 60 pounds by my 40th b-day in February.

    2) How has your progress been this week? Pretty good. I lost another 2 pounds.  I was pleased with that because I had two dinners out during the week.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? I've been using the Body by Vi shakes for almost 3 months. I really need to get my ass in gear and exercise more.

    4) Best part of your week? We had a nice weekend with a balance of relaxation and getting work done.

    5) Worst part of your week? Nothing really.

QOTW: How do you celebrate your scale or non-scale victories? I'm trying to not reward myself with food.

  • 1) What are your fitness goals? Lose 10-15 lbs. Eat healthier, cut snacks, exercise 5 days a week.

    2) How has your progress been this week? I was doing really well but I ate crap so it did nothing for me.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Plan is to start cooking dinner more and bringing healthy lunches. Workouts should be 5 days a week and a mix of cardios.

    4) Best part of your week? I have nothing I'm proud of.

    5) Worst part of your week? Finding out I didn't lose a single lb and noticing how awful my summer clothes look on me.

QOTW: How do you celebrate your scale or non-scale victories?
With ice cream or sex. Either one. Haha

  • 1. Fitness goal-lose at least 75 pounds (40 or so to go) 2. Progress-I've been at a plateau...I'm hoping that school ending this week will allow me to exercise through it. 3.plan- we've tracked using myfitness pal and mapmyfitness apps and I've cut out dairy/soy most of the time (I've been struggling to stick to it he past few weeks) 4.best-the other morning we were laying in bed and I noticed how much more pronounced my hip bone is...it made me feel pretty good. 5. Worst-we have a lot off junk food at work this week and I have so much going on in the evening that healthy cooking isn't going well either.

    1) What are your fitness goals? Need to lose about 20 lbs to start

    2) How has your progress been this week? So far, good.  I drank lots of water today, exercised, and ate pretty healthy.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Protein shakes for breakfast (I don't typically like breakfast), working out (joined three classes at the YMCA), and eating more veggies and lots of water.

    4) Best part of your week? Spending time with my dad and stepmom, as well as SIL and her kids.  We smoked a bunch of meat and veggies yesterday.  It was fabulous.

    5) Worst part of your week? Not health related: Got into a little tisk with my mom--my sister had a kid a year ago and my mom goes up to her house (over an hour away) 1-2 times a week.  I maybe see her once a month and I live twenty minutes away.  Did I mention this is my step sister?  Annoys me.

    2) How has your progress been this week? Awesome!!!! I'm not counting it officially but a sneak peek at my scale this am says that I'm past this giant plateau I've had for two months and I can't wait to tell my RE when I see her today!

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? My fitness pal calorie counting, protein shakes for breakfast, and I started T25 this week and have been doing a few days of the week at the ymca at night

    4) Best part of your week? Connecting with college friends over t25

    5) Worst part of your week? Drama with a college friend over beach body and who bought what from who... Seriously? Can't we all just support eachother???

QOTW: How do you celebrate your scale or non-scale victories? Purchases... I have my eye on a new wristlet and bag ;)

  • 1) What are your fitness goals?
General health, but more so feeling good if that makes sense. I've abandoned scales because I hate them. I swear they all lie. I try to workout 3-5x/wk. 20-30 minutes.

    2) How has your progress been this week?
If 3-5x is my goal...1x isn't so good. But it was a solid workout today.

    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)? Eat only until full. Trying to start with a smaller portion. Can always get more. Seems easy to do, but isn't.
My workout is all body weight exercises and a little running. I like to use an app called Random WOD. Designed for crossfitters but you can change the settings for what ever you'd like.

    4) Best part of your week?
Getting back into working out today after a month hiatus.

    5) Worst part of your week?
None workout related: Getting the voicemail my wife left me after she hurt her knee. The pain was intense for her and knowing it was a voicemail and that I had missed her when she needed me sucked.

QOTW: How do you celebrate your scale or non-scale victories?
If I can...a nap. Usually using my dog as a pillow. I used to buy new workout equipment. Kettlebells, etc but the novelty always wears off. Kettlebell workouts are no joke btw.
  • 1) What are your fitness goals?
To lose weight and get in better shape
    2) How has your progress been this week?
I've gone to the gym and swam laps for 30-40 minutes on tues and thurs. I also walked at work on my break one one of the days.
    3) What is your "plan" (diet, workout regime, etc)?
trying to work up to swimming on a daily basis during the week, but for now 2-3 mornings is ok. also trying to drink more water and eat healthier in general
    4) Best part of your week?
friend coming over for the weekend
    5) Worst part of your week?
cutting off a slice of my thumb while using a mandolin to slice lemons to garnish my salmon last night for dinner. lesson learned- always use the guard.
QOTW: How do you celebrate your scale or non-scale victories?
just starting out so I havent celebrated yet, but my plan is to celebrate my feeling better with keeping up the hard work!
