Re: FRIDAY CONFESSIONS

  • Did any of you used to go on the Married Life board? Well, I used to post over there occasionally and lurked quite a bit (different SN). I think I had been on there since I joined TK/TN way back in 2003 until they migrated to ProBoards.

Anyhow, I read one of the regular's blog every so often. I always found her funny and loved that she wasn't afraid to let her opinion be known, even if it wasn't popular. So I checked her blog yesterday and saw a picture of her and all of her hair was chopped off. It looked super-cute, but I checked on ProBoards and found out that she has cancer. Thankfully the prognosis is good, but I was seriously tearing up and now I feel like a total internet creeper.

ETA: I deleted her SN because I feel weird about sharing that information now. She posted about it on ProBoards, so it isn't a secret or anything, but I feel like it probably isn't my place to share that info. Am I being weird?

  • I never believe in the whole Friday the 13th stuff but today....
I shook a sugar packet to put in my tea, it went all over me. I have sugar all stuck in my hair.
I then dropped my tea trying to put the cover on it.
Then while cleaning up said tea, someone tried to help me, and we both stood at the same time and totally knocked heads.

I think I need to go home and hide.

YL, I know I told you on Twitter yesterday but I can't really tell you how much that made me think about the accident I had earlier this year.  I realized, even more so than before, how lucky I was to walk away.  If the bus has been going faster or hit closer to the driver's side, my life would be very different now.  Assuming it didn't kill me.

It really is crazy to think about how quickly life can change when things like that happen. I'm glad you're ok!

  • I've been wondering when is too early to ask for another band to go with my engagement and wedding rings.  I told myself that I should wait until our 5 year anniversary which is December 2015, but part of me thinks that this Christmas/anniversary would be better because it's much sooner.

Also, next week I'll be 29.  I don't think 29 is old and I don't feel old and I'm most definitely not calling anyone else old, but I'm having many OMG THE LAST YEAR OF MY 20s moments lately.

  • @Lauren620 I think my 30's are fantastic so far.  Better, I think, than my 20's.

I've considered an anniversary band as well.  We just passed 5 years so I'm thinking I missed the boat that one.

    a) I want another band, too. Next year will be 10 yrs, so I think it's a good time to ask for one then. Thanks for the reminder.
    ;)

    b) I didn't have that moment until I turned 31. That was my freakout year...I'm officially IN MY 30s! But I'm actually liking my 30s a lot. They're fun.

My BF wears stacked rings -- her wedding band, engagement ring, and 3 bands that look like anniv. bands but with the birthstones of her kids.  It's absolutely gorgeous.

I think I want a diamond band that matches my wedding band and then when I have kids I can ask for stacked rings for my right hand!

@SnShne322 you didn't miss the boat.  It's never too late!

You have some time to plan out what you want! I'm glad I could be of help :)

I actually think when I turn 30 it will be harder on my mom than it will be on me.  The whole youngest child turning 30 thing isn't going to go over well with her lol

  • Someone I went to HS with committed suicide yesterday, I'm from a super small town so I've known this guy my whole life and it's just so very sad.  I'm useless at work today and I'm really pissed at my husband because he doesn't understand why I was so upset about it and didn't sleep well last night.  His sister used to date this guy so I told her last night because I didn't want her to hear from anyone else.  He was scolding me for telling her and getting myself worked up, but I was already worked up in the first place.

I'm useless at work but I don't really want to go home because it's going to be that helpful.

I would be so upset if my bff just stopped having time for me and my stupid little things. Thankfully my bff is awesome and knows how to juggle her time.

Well, you sound like a darling friend to have.
Um, yea. I'm really glad I have friends with kids that don't consider me and my "stupid little stuff" an inconvenience.

No snark intended, but honestly, how did you think that would come out?  Because I can think of no other possible scenarios or meanings that would make it better.

This confession more stemmed from, prior kids, everyone thought I was too nice, now it doesn't seem to be the case anymore...
