IHO Summer: Ice Cream!

Sorry, Booney...no doughnuts.

We're about to have a 90 degree day in this area. Being on a strict diet when the weather is warm means constantly dreaming about ice cream. What's your favorite ice cream flavor?

I am boring. I like Blue Bunny Vanilla Frozen Yogurt (and it is only 100 calories per 1/2 cup).

I adore ice cream, so it is hard to pick just one. I like Ben & Jerry's Strawberry Cheesecake. When we lived in SC, there was an awesome ice cream place right down the street that made their own Carrot Cake ice cream that was amazing as well. Their Blueberry Cheesecake was a close second. When we lived in Fredericksburg, there was this tiny place called Carl's that had the best vanilla ice cream I have ever had. It was to die for.

I love carrot cake. That sounds amazing.

Depends . . .

There's a dairy/sunflower farm about 40 minutes from where I live, and in August when the sunflowers are blooming, they make sunflower ice cream. It's amazing. I think maybe they make sunflower seed granola with honey and other delicious things and then mix that into the ice cream.
New England ladies - it's in Griswold CT, anyone up for an ice cream GTG in August?

From regular ice cream shops, I always get black raspberry with chocolate jimmies.

From the grocery, Cherry Garcia or Phish Food.

Back when I ate all the things without any problems, I loved rocky road, mint chocolate chip, key lime pie, cookies and cream, cookie dough, and birthday cake the best.
Now I'm a sorbet or frozen yogurt girl. Those frozen yogurt places where you pay by weight and everything is labeled with allergens? Oh my god I love them. I love raspberry sorbet and lemon sorbet and cheesecake frozen yogurt.
At home I do the banana ice cream thing. If you like bananas it really works. Freeze a banana in chunks, then blend or throw in a food processor until a soft serve consistency forms. And it will, like magic. I like throwing almond butter and marshmallows in my fake ice cream and my husband likes chocolate chips and nuts with his.

I love Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Party Cake and Cookies n Cream! I also recently had a Caramel Pretzel Klondike Bar and that was pretty AMAZING!

Mint Chocolate Chip. Ben & Jerry's made a limited release cannoli ice cream a couple of years ago that was really good as well.

Ben & Jerry's made a flavor years and years and years ago called Coffee, Coffee, Buzz, Buzz which was SOOOOOO awesome. It was coffee ice cream with chocolate covered espresso beans in it. I would kill for that to make a comeback.

I have to say I hold a huge grudge against Ben & Jerry's because you get hooked on a flavor and then they stop making it. It pisses me off sooooo much.

Sam Adams does this with beer as well. I loved their Black Lager and they don't make it anymore. And then I got into their Chocolate Bock and they no longer make that either.

Those Bastards.

I love Peanut Butter Chocolate. Baskin Robbins has the best but Target's is a close second.

I also really like Haagen Dasz (I have no idea how to spell that) Rocky Road.

I can't choose just one!!! I will say that that if it has any combination of: chocolate, vanilla, caramel, peanut butter, marshmallow, cookies, etc... I'll like it.

I can say that I DO NOT like fruit in my ice cream. I love fruit & I love ice cream but they don't belong mixed together in the same bowl!

I make this mistake at Pinkberry all the time. The fruit all looks so delicious, and then I mix it into my frozen yogurt and it freezes and I hate everything about it.

I most enjoy the Edy's Samoas Girl Scout Cookie ice cream, though it's seasonal. My second favorite would be vanilla with strawberry pieces and strawberry ribbons.

Currently, it's Scotchie-Scotch-Scotch-Scotch (or whatever it is called...the Anchorman one) from Ben & Jerry's. I have a longtime love of mint chocolate chip though.

I love ice cream. It's been in the mid 90's all week here so I could use some lol.

I'm so boring. I only eat vanilla Costco ice cream or chocolate anywhere else. Lame.

Yeah, that Scotchie Scotch Scotch or whatever is awesome! It has little bits of butterscotch candy in it.

Call me a weirdo but I love fruit in my ice cream, especially black cherries or strawberries.
