@aggiebug that's not really true. Insurers might cover Prozac but not sarafem, for example. They are both fluoxetine. I've seen it happen. Of course they might require a generic if it's available, but I'm not sure what that has to do with Viagra. Insurance doesn't just cover sildenafil or fluoxetine. They cover Viagra, revatio, sarafem, Prozac, etc. Formularies list brand names. Also, @backseatdriver is correct, insurers are privy to your health information. They have every right to ask what your Rx is being used for, and they do. You can probably decline to have your info shared with you insurer, citing HIPAA, but then they can decline to pay for you. ETA: formularies do list generic names too, when a generic formulation is available. Which it isn't for Viagra.

The thing I keep wondering is if Hobby Lobby is so morally concerned about paying for "abortion causing" treatments for its American employees, then why does the company continue to import the vast majority of its goods from China?  You know, the place where abortions are considered common practice.  A country where an estimated 13 million abortion procedures are conducted (compared to 750,000 in the U.S.) and 10 million abortion pills are sold annually.  A woman's reproductive rights < a person/company's religious beliefs < MONEY.
