The RE just called...

And IUI didn't work. While I kind of knew this from the PTs I took yesterday and today, I was still hoping that they were just wrong. Luckily I wasn't with a client because after I hung up, I just broke down. I have 1/2 an hour to get myself together for my next client. I'm supposed to meet with the RE on Monday (so thankful for a cancellation) to discuss next steps. I'm hoping we can start right away with the next round of IUI.

I forgot to ask on the phone, but I take it I should stop taking the progesterone since it's negative, right? How soon we AF come after I stop taking it? Does it even prevent AF? Or should I just take the rest that I have? Ugh! I guess I need to call them back to ask.

Sorry it's so long, and I didn't want to junk up the 3T post.

  • I'm sorry. Yes, you can stop taking the progesterone.  Know you are not alone with the crying at work after a bad call from the RE.  It is a perfectly normal response but sucks nonetheless!

After each IUI, I got AF at different times.  I remember it coming while I was taking the Progesterone still (and before I had even gotten a negative test) and also a couple of days after I stopped the Progesterone.

Take care of yourself this weekend!

I am so so sorry :(  I am glad that your RE can get you in quickly and hope that they'll let you go right into your next IUI cycle.  My RE said you have better chances when you do them back to back, although I'm not sure if that's true or not.  Again, I'm so very sorry.  Tonight definitely calls for some junk food and booze for you.
