So... yea... Twins

For those of you who are not friends with me on the FB, I figured I would announce that I am expecting twins in January! Crazy unexpected (I mean we were ok with the idea of one). But we are starting to work out the logistics of what a three kid family means. And I have already been trying to soften Kev to the idea of a minivan over an obnoxiously large SUV.

If he needs a pep talk about the minivan, send him to my house. Brian will give him a tour of ours and easily talk him into it.

Do twins run in either family? How exciting!!! I will tell you.... having another after being out of baby mode for way too long really isn't as bad as I worried it would be.

If that makes sense. Ha. And I worried about Madi being the only for so long and being jealous. She (knock on wood) has been one bit. She loves Julia more than I ever thought she would. We did do a sibling class at the hospital I delivered and that was great. Congrats again.

No history of twins in the family. But in my reading it says being tall and in your 30s increases the chances. I am glad to hear that Madi is being such a great big sister. I have hope EJ will take to it just as well!

Oh my goodness! What a surprise! Congratulations. I had no idea that being tall and in your 30's can equal twins. Science is crazy. Wishing you a happy/uneventful pregnancy.

Emmy, we will find out the babies genders. Cause I gotta plan yo. There is a nursery to decorate, names to pick. We should have our anatomy scan in another 7 weeks give or take.

That's a big adjustment in thinking I'm sure!! Glad you're feeling ok so far. May that keep up!! And being tall and in your 30s is a totally random correlation to twins! I'll have to let my sister know bc she's not sure if they're done after this baby.

So, how did you find out there are 2 peas in your pod? Was it an ultrasound? Did you or dh pass out/fall over? I need to know!

Oh and I vote for minivan and I don't even have one. I'm convinced that sliding doors would improve my live 110%.

We are also minivan enthusiasts. We got our when I was pregnant with Michael. Steve and I would choose it over an SUV any day. The doors opening by pushing a button and not having to worry about the kids banging the doors on other cars is priceless!

Dang - I'm lucky none of my 3 ended up being twins, then! lol (You do have about 2 inches on me, though!)

Congratulations, again! A family of 3 kids is crazy - but can be fun, too. You'll adjust and thrive!

Well I had an u/s to date the pregnancy as my cycle was not regular. Or that was the excuse the doctor gave me after my first appointment. Kev didn't come along because "you've seen one fetus you have seen them all" and he is traveling for work the next two weeks and needed to get stuff done. So I went solo, no big deal. The tech told me seconds after she started. It was very obvious (the babies are measuring at 12 weeks) I was in shock, my eyes teared up a big and my mind was all over the place. But mostly, i just laughed. A lot.
once I left, I was a little more jittery and nauseous. Walked into the house and told Kev he should have come. It was... interesting. And I laid the photos out in front of him. He was all deer in headlights, and said something along the lines of "two? twins? holy shit!"

I can't even imagine the shock of finding out you're having twins! Did you tell Eleni? What does she think? My irrational fear of twins is what is holding me back from trying for #3. Well, that and DH isn't on board :-P

If she's anything like my DD, Eleni will be fully prepared to be the ring leader and will be happy to have two little ones to boss around.
