@Uptowngirl2009‌ hugs. There is a big growth spurt and developmental leap at 3 weeks that makes things really rough. I would definitely talk to the ped about reflux and blood in the stool could be a reaction to dairy. I'm not sure for FF moms, but usually blood in the stool is an indication that BF moms might want to eliminate dairy from their diet. There are formulas for babies with dairy intolerances and reflux and a lot of times you can work with your insurance to get the formula.

If you are having trouble bonding with your girl, I would reach out to your OB. PPA and PPD are so difficult to deal with on your own and so incredibly common. I'm not saying you have that, but your OB will be able to help you sort out your emotions. <3

And hey, it was good to see McKenry in town, even if it was for the other team.

  • Thanks everyone who commented here regarding my post. We ended up taking her to the children's hospital ER to get checked per our pedi's request. They said nothing is wrong basically and that she has to grow out of this once her systems mature more. They said it could be reflux but pretty much said nothing will help it. They said we could try gas drops and gripe water if we want.

I honestly feel much better after we went in. I know now that we just have to find a way to deal with this and hopefully it will get better soon. One good thing is that they said we can switch back from Nutramigen to Similac. Since the symptoms are happening on either formula they said it would be ok to switch back. I'm so glad because the Nutramigen is $10 more expensive.

@MRads‌ I thought the leap didn't happen until closer to 4 weeks old? I have the wonder weeks app and that's what it said. Also, I was glad to see McKenry! I'm just sad he's not on the Pirates team anymore...this season just isn't the same for me!

  • Sorry that I'm late to the game again this week...

    For Mommies-to-be:

How many weeks are you? 8w4d

    When is your EDD? 3/1/2015

How are you feeling? Meh... Nausea and fatigue has definitely increased, although today I feel slightly better.

What are you craving?  Seems to change minute-to-minute, but I've been getting a craving for something very specific (like a bean burrito), and can't think about eating anything else until I get whatever it is that I originally wanted. Very weird (to me anyways).

What is grossing you out? See above. Anything that is not what I want at that very moment, and still most sweets.

Have you bought/received anything for the baby lately? I bought a belly band last week. With the constipation and bloating, I am having a hard time fitting into my usual clothes. Last week, the "comfy" stuff I was wearing made me look like I was 5 months pregnant, and I had 2 different people ask me if I was pregnant. I also bought Preggy Pop Drops, but I haven't found them quite as helpful as IslandMonkey did.

Ultrasounds? Betas? Appointments? First OB appointment is 8/8. Since this Friday is my 9 week mark, I am planning to have my friends who work in a local ED (and have a U/S and doppler) "check-in" on the little peanut on Monday though.

Have you / will you found out the sex? Yes.

Any names picked out? Currently, Alexander is in the lead for a boy (middle name of DH's brother who passed away), and Violet for a girl.

How is the nursery coming along? PIPs? Themes? Started looking at stuff at BRB and Target recently. Nothing official though.

Anything else you would like to add or PIP? Nope.

I love this update!!! And I also love the name Violet. :-)

  • Late to the party but we've been house-busy so I'm finally getting a tiny bit of down time tonight.  Our old landlord emailed us today that they're showing our apartment tomorrow so we had to hurry over there and clean out the remaining stuff.  So glad that's done. :)

    For Mommies-to-be:

How many weeks are you? 5w 3d

When is your EDD? March 21, 2015 based on LMP

How are you feeling? Overall exhausted most of the time and nauseous a lot.

What are you craving? Not much of anything sounds good. I know I'm craving something, but I can't tell you what and everything I try, isn't it.

What is grossing you out? Most everything...the new one of the day is the plain water at work.

Have you bought/received anything for the baby lately? Negative but we are working on unpacking all of the boxes we brought into the house which includes everything we put in the 'nursery'.

Ultrasounds? Betas? Appointments? This upcoming MONDAY!! I don't know whether I'm more excited or nervous.  Last time, I had my u/s one day and my m/c the next.  I'm trying to remind myself that the u/s didn't cause it and it won't cause it this time.

Have you / will you found out the sex? We will.

Any names picked out? We have a girl name and at the suggestion of the ladies last week, I think I'd be ok with using it.  We didn't find out the gender of our angel baby so it's only an assumption that it was a girl and if we still decide to use it, I'll be ok with it. :)

How is the nursery coming along? PIPs? Themes? See above about cleaning it out. :)

Anything else you would like to add or PIP?

Random thoughts for the evening - We've decided to tell my parents on Monday after the u/s.  We're going to make an 'Under Construction for ' sign for the 'nursery' door and put the u/s picture under it.  I'm going to tell my mom to go upstairs to get something since they're here and helping us get settled so much and see what happens.

Also, I didn't know that I could still have triggers of my loss.  We went to eat at the same place I ate the night my m/c started tonight and I actually felt emotional about it.  DH offered to go elsewhere but I told him I had to face it and we did.  Now to get through the next week or so until the u/s and get past that trigger and I think I will start to breathe a little easier.

@linnae939 - I'm so sorry to hear about your dog.  My childhood dog was diagnosed with cancer and we gave him the best week of his life but it was completely heartbreaking and filled with so many tears.  *Hugs*
