OK- who has watched the trailer?

50SoG is like a train wreck for me.  Hated the book so  much- bugs the sh!t out of me that it has gotten all this attention- yet I felt compelled to look at the trailer this morning.
I WILL NOT be seeing the movie at the theatres but I just had to see what they are doing with the book.

I will say (hard not to with the book) that I think the movie would be way better....

Re: OK- who has watched the trailer?

  • I watched the trailer just to see what the hype is about, but I have no interest whatsoever in watching the movie.

    I wrote this!
  • I actually haven't read the book, but the trailer kind of creeps me out.  The weird moan-y beyonce music at the end? I don't know.

  • My sister is reading them now and she can't fathom why I don't want to read them.  It's a love story, she says!

That said, I'm morbidly curious about the trailer.

  • So this movie is actually really happening huh?  I was kind of hoping it was one of those "forever in production" type of things.

  • I had to watch. My curiosity  got the better of me.
Are they playing this as a romance movie, because it's being released on Valentines Day.
    WTF

Also I don't think that guy is that good looking. I've never read the books, but isn't the guy supposed to be ridiculous good looking?

Do it!  More than anything I wanted to see how the people who they cast did.  Not impressed!

  • I watched it.  I refused to read the books, of course--but the trailer did NOTHING for me...at all.  Neither one of them are people I wanna see doing 'peanut butter jelly time' in any way.  I don't get the hype at all...

However--I did see a poster and the main guy's butt is kind of hot.  That's all I can say about that.

  • Sigh.  I did it.

It's really not a good sign that I burst out laughing.

  • I've never read the books so I have no idea what the story is all about but the trailer gave me the creeps and the actor was weird looking and not hot. I feel like I need a shower now, yuck!

I watched the trailer and it seems awful (ETA: I wasn't expecting it to be not awful).

  • So I had to go watch it. Bleh. He is not attractive at all to me. In any way, shape or form. Like, not even a little bit. She looks sickly.

  • LOL at this whole thread. It is so completely opposite of what is happening on my FB feed right now that it's just mind boggling.

I do find that dude kind of cute. I forget his name.

I'm definitely going to watch it just because I want to see this train wreck for myself.

  • @EliStar - I think Jamie Dornan is totally hot. As himself. That plagarizing pile of putridness isn't going to ruin him for me.

  • I watched it out of curiosity. I haven't read the book and have NO plans to see the movie. My FB feed is all "It comes out Valentine's Day! Wink, Wink, Husband!" I'll probably divorce DH if he tries to take me to that movie for a Valentine's Day date. The actor they have as Grey used to be on Once Upon a Time. He was hotter on that, but it was probably because of his stubble. I don't think he looks that good in the trailer.

  • I thought the Sons of Anarchy guy was supposed to be Christian Grey.

  • I thought the Sons of Anarchy guy was supposed to be Christian Grey.
He was originally chosen and then dropped out for some reason. I like the guy from Once Upon a Time and was disappointed when he took the role.

It's the same on mine as well and I just want to scream at them.

  • I keep seeing this pop up on FB and every person talking about it is excited. Several of my friends (that I'm judging now) are all "I know what we're doing for Valentine's Day next year!" wink wink. Ugh. I haven't seen the trailer but now I feel like I need to see what the fuss is all about. I tried to read the original fanfiction way back when the book was released, again to see why everyone liked it so much, but I hated it before the first chapter was over.
    image
  • I just watched it. I have zero desire to see this.
I think the movie will probably be loads better than the book. It has to be, right?

I read the first book. I couldn't read anymore. I have no desire to see the movie.
  • I thought the Sons of Anarchy guy was supposed to be Christian Grey.
He dropped out because of "scheduling conflicts".  That's the excuse they use when it's really bad and they want out.
