  I'm going to be teaching a class this fall at Roanoke College!  Their public historian has suddenly departed for a sweet gig at UVA, and they've asked me to teach her intro class this fall so they don't have to drop it from the schedule.

  I am going camping all next week in Cherrystone, VA and can't wait!  Kayaking, campfires, smores, biking, fishing, digging for clams! Honestly, I wouldn't care where we are going. I am just happy to be able to relax and not think about work.

  GAH!  When I saw that you were following the playlist, I got all excited that I had someone to talk to about it!  I'm not even a huge Keira Knightley fan, but I adored her in this movie.

  I go back and forth with Keira but I loved her in this movie. I also loved Mark Ruffalo but it's very rare that I don't love him and all his grizzled gruffness.

  I went to my last ever class last night! I have a paper to submit next Wednesday and then I am officially done my undergrad! I'll have my degree in hand in October. WOOT!

  Umm, a tornado just ripped through the campground this morning. 3 confirmed deaths. 20 plus injuries. I am just so thankful we weren't there. Lots of prayers for these folks and their families.

  The bartender came to our table last night and informed @hoycie and I that we had finished an entire bottle of Hendrick's between us. Her mom had only had wine. I was flabbergasted because at that point, I wasn't drunk yet.

  I am totally ok with this. I love his crooked mouth and wild curly hair dying for a trim.

  I saw that! That sounds terrifying! We went camping the first week of July and had a thunderstorm one day. It was scary enough to be in a pop-up camper being rocked and pounded with hail. I can't even imagine being on a campground when a tornado hits.

  DH was in a car accident on Monday. He hurt his back and knee (from trying to brake). The other guy was found at fault, but we share the same insurance company. The car is totaled, and I'm worried they'll want to settle at a low amount since they are the same insurance. DH is still in a lot of pain (has been to ER and his regular doctor). He's missed work all week and his boss is pissed. He got into the accident on his way back from lunch and his boss actually thought he was going to come back!

  
  

  Then this morning his favorite uncle died. I just feel awful for him. I'm not even excited to graduate tonight anymore. I just want to stay home and bundle him up and feed him cookies.

  Finally progress has been made on my MIL's kitchen remodel.  No thanks to her moving the little random things out of the kitchen.  She's had the cabinets ordered for three weeks and said that she would work on it so many times.  Never even touched it.  So we went over there yesterday and moved everything.  2 hours.  I'm so frustrated with this project.  At least we can finally start knocking down walls though.  It's just horribly delayed.

  I take my doctoral comprehensive exams in 2.5 weeks (eek!). The funny thing that has started happening though is that when I take study breaks I often read for pleasure. But because my studying is mainly trying to memorize terms/historical trends/titles of pieces and composers etc... I find myself trying to "study" my pleasure reading. It normally takes a paragraph or two for me to realize that I can stop trying to memorize what I just read and keep going
