Vacation!!!!

Not yet but I'm dreaming! In 2.5 weeks we leave for our vacation with my family to Prince Edward Island on the east coast of Canada - aka home of Anne of green gables. 11 work days left...I want to go now!

I'm sleepy today. After giving me hope of sleeping through one day, and only waking up once a nice ds2 is back to waking up every 2/3 hours. Blah!!!!!

Also we accomplished a lot of cleaning this weekend which makes me happy because this coming Saturday is the surprise party I'm having for dh and 5 years cancer free! Now it's just maintenance and a little bit more prep.

Re: Vacation!!!!

  • YAY vacation!!!!

I'm very sleepy today as well. We had a very long weekend full of too much stuff and no sleep. It was my last weekend off until the middle of August too so I'm kind of irritated about how it went.

    Yay for the surprise party!!!!

Good Afternoon Ladies! Our weekend was good. H got the barn half completed. He just needs to seal the floor and move all the crap back in it. I had a successful scrapbook weekend. I am all caught up with the year. SIL is caught up as well but needs to finish the baby book. I also bought some new cartridges for my cricut. I am loving them so far! I have two others in my list. I might let H know so he can get them for Christmas or maybe early Christmas! ;) I told him Christmas in July Birthday is only 5 days away. Hehe!

Aggie: hope Denver is fun and not all work!
JLQ: hope your tooth feels better. I hate the dentist as well, but I still go every 6 months to try to avoid another root canal and the pain! Hang in there and it will get better! Hope the next few weeks aren't too tiring since it sound like you were a busy girl this weekend!
Echo: Yea Vacation!! Yea Party!! Hope everything goes well for you! And may ds2 get the memo about sleeping through the night!

  • I made a dentist appointment for Thursday.  :-<   :-S

Tomorrow I go for my physical and blood work. One more thing off my list for school!

Sounds like you had a nice weekend, Degrea!

  • Degrea your weekend sounds fantastic and super productive. Wahoo.

I am glad you have an appt Jlq. Sending hugs as I know you will be stressed until it is over.

Today is full of appointments this afternoon and things I should get done around here. But first I am trying for a do over. My first try out of bed was less than stellar so quick nap and try again.

  • random question...when you go for a physical is it literally just a pap? I have never technically been for a physical but have had a pap done when I was preggo.....so my first one was 3 years ago. I wonder if I should be booking one.......if they dont do much more I'm not due for one till for I think 2 more years...I think we do every 5 year for paps now........I should talk to my dr at the boys next appointment.......blah

I also hate dentists and I am convinced they are all just after money and tell you that you have cavities..
  • Echo no it's not just a pap. They do an internal exam to make sure things feel normals as well as a breast exam. And I am shocked papa are 5 yrs. The new recommendation is 3 yrs unless you have a previous history of abnormalities but a physical is recommended annually.

  • maybe i meant 3........and i had one after ds1 was born too.....

I have a dentist appointment next Thursday. Hopefully they don't find anything since I think I am due for X-rays. My dad needs to get a root canal done this week. He had a broken tooth for awhile but now it's causing pain so it's time.

My pap is every three years now. Which I am excited about. So much better than every year. They also did blood work at my physical this time. Everything looked good except my iron and vitamin D. No surprise there!

Good luck with your busy day Aggie!

I saw on FB that DS2 did not get the memo, Echo! Here's hoping for tonight.

It is a necessary evil JLQ! Hugs!! It will all be over soon.

  • I have to have a root canal. I broke a tooth like 3 years ago. haha. I'm terrible.

Echo - When I go for my pap I go to my PCP and he does a breast exam and listen to my breathing and checks my ears and stuff, too. If he thinks I need blood work done he does that then too. It counts as my yearly physical and yearly pap so it all gets done at once.

JLQ: I would recommend getting the root canal done sooner rather than later. If you have insurance it shouldn't be too bad as far as cost go. I have had two root canals on the same tooth. They missed a root the first time. They aren't that bad I swear. If you go to someone who just does them all day you are in and out in 45 min or less. The worst part is the needle of novicane. That needle is large for no reason!

  • My problem is my gag reflex. I know once I get the novicane I won't feel it, but all I can think about it is choking to death on some gauze or something.
I went to try to get it done before and they were going to give me the gas but the machine was broken and so we were going to try it without it, but I couldn't handle having all that stuff in my mouth.

  • So we looked at houses tonight. We saw one we really really like. It's only been on the market for a month and our realtor thinks it's underpriced and won't last long. She wants us to put in an offer tomorrow!!!  :-S

  • House hunting is exciting and scary as degrea said. My biggest regret is not looking closely at little things...like baseboards that were painted white to look new but were actually old and crappy. Boo
  • Against my wishes we were house hunting. I tried to tell J I didn't think it was the right time for us to buy a house while I'm still in school. He still wanted to go look, so we did, and when we saw a house we liked it was just too much. We'd be able to afford it now, but starting next summer I'll have clinical 40hrs a week and will barely have time to work, so it would be pushing it very much to afford everything.
So now the house hunting is off. J isn't happy about it.

She's getting married on the ocean in CT so hopefully there is a breeze. Lol! I will have to figure hotness into my dress decision when the time comes.

That is a lot of dental work. I am sorry! Honestly root canals aren't that bad. Fillings sort of suck but you can get through it I promise. Good luck! We are here for ya!

  • I am just worried about gagging the entire time....that's honestly my problem. I'm ok with the pain, I expect it to hurt. But I can't control my gagging and then when I gag I get upset and cry and just turn into a hot mess.
My friend said an extraction could mess up my bite further on the road and he really recommends the root canal....I'm just so terrified.
I was going to ask my PCP for a script for some ativan that I could take before I went to the dentist, but I got too nervous to even ask him for that! I'm such a baby!!!

That will be so nice, a wedding along the ocean!!! She'll have great pictures!!

Yea Echo! That is great news. So happy for you.

JLQ: do you actually gag or is it the fear of gagging so you over react to stuff being in your mouth? Not trying to sound judgey just want to understand and help if I can. I have had a ton of dental work done on my teeth. I have no idea how many fillings I have had done but a lot. Most of them were done without novicane because I was little. I have had two root canals on the same tooth. Not too mention my wisdom teeth removed with novicane, no gas for this girl. Fillings don't hurt they just don't feel natural until you get use to them. Root Canals hurt for a day or two but not anything that Advil couldn't fix. My wisdom teeth was probably the least painful of them all. I was playing softball that evening and eating solid foods one day later. Do they have a plan for the fillings? All at once or half one day half the next? Are you going to get gas for the root canal? I am here if you want to talk!

  • No, I actually gag. My gag reflex is very sensitive. I had a full set of x-rays today and I felt so bad for the girl taking them, because I gagged so hard and we had to keep re setting the thing. She eventually had to spray numbing spray in the back of my mouth. That wears off after so long, though.
My mouth hurts now, so I'm not super worried about it hurting. They didn't mention anything about the gas for the root canal...I guess I could ask. I want like valium and then gas, too. haha.
I know I overreact to the dentist and things, I just can't help it. I'm seriously terrified.
They told me I need to decide if I want the root canal or want to have the tooth extracted it. An extraction costs way way less money, but my friend who went through the hygiene program says an extraction could mess up my bite. I dunno what to do.
