Re: ~*Mommy & M2B Monday*~

  • @brij2006, that's a tricky call re: the shade of gray. If you're not going to have white trim, the walls may look more like an off white than a gray (which was my fear with the light gray shade we chose). Seeing the gray next to the white of the bedroom door really helped me notice it better, but if I were leaving it up against a wood tone, I probably would have wanted to go a shade darker. And that darker one you have picked isn't THAT dark, so it might be fine. I'd pick up a sample and paint a few patches on each wall to see how it looks, and go from there.

    I also LOVE the turquoise!!

  • @luckyangel07 That's a good point.  The lighter grey probably would just look like an off white.  Unless it's paired against white furniture or something with a darker grey.
I also love the teal and really wanted to do the border up top with it, but we don't want to have to repaint the room if we ever do not want the teal/orange accents in it anymore.  Our bedroom has the same style with a hunter green border and here we are 5 years later and I want to repaint the whole thing so I don't need green stuff in it to match.

  • @zamboni00 - I love that you laid down rules for your shower! I'm thinking of requesting the shower by 28 weeks as well, so I have been checking with lots of twin mommies and mommies to be to see if that really is best.

  • I felt like a jerk, and at first my mom thought I was just being a brat, and wanting it at our house so it could also be a house warming party. Ummm no. I just want to do whatever we can to make sure I can be there :)

And not be terribly miserable :)

I think you're going to have an awesome shower! I can't wait to see pics!

I think whoever ends up hosting my shower is going to have a fun time picking a date with Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff all falling at that time!

  • Ultrasounds? Betas? Appointments? First official OB appt. is 8/8. Today, I got to see the little olive on U/S where my friend works (peds ER nurse). She didn't really know how to use the machine (no sound, no zoom, etc.), but we definitely saw it moving. Think we say a HR of 168 on doppler, but was very brief. Now, just waiting until the 8th.

Any names picked out? Alexander and Violet, for now.

Yay for seeing your LO!! Even if it was a no-frills view. :)

And I love both your names. I briefly considered Violet, but DH wasn't feeling it. Alexander is still pretty much my top boy's name.
