Happy Friday! What are you reading?
What do you think of it so far? Is it for any of the challenges?
Friday, December 28 2012. The day I had emergency appendix surgery in Mexico and quit smoking. Proof that everything has a good side!! DH and I are happily child-free!! No due date or toddler tickers here!!

I am finally making progress with Joyland by SK and on my kindle I am reading Beauty Bride by Claire Delacroix. It is slow going.

I am halfway through City of Heavenly Fire and so far I am enjoying it. It took me a bit to get into it but I think it was because it had been so long since I read the last one. I also just started Midnight Kiss and The Pillars of the Earth. No opinions on them yet as I just started.
They are all for SuBC and are #49 - 51 for the year.

I just finished Heaven & Earth by NR this morning and started Face the Fire. I listened to Dance Upon the Air last week for my first week at the new job when I felt that I needed the extra courage.
I plan to sit down with my completed m/s tonight and take notes on what I want to keep/toss and get back to work on that.
Life after life by Kate Atkinson still for my main IRL book club.
Parent fatigue syndrome by Joanna hulton for a parenting book club.
China dolls by Lisa see for another book club I'm trying out.
I'm putting orange is the new black on hold for now.

I'm also listening to Dragonfly in Amber. I thought I would pick up a few things on the reread but it's not any less confusing for me the second time through.

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

My sweet babies:

I read the first chapter of Isla last night, I need a lighter book, so I think this one will be great!
I'm a bit over halfway through Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo and am loving it. Also about 2/3 of the way through Dark Places by Gillian Flynn and I have no idea what the outcome is going to be.
My new bff Gayle Forman!
“You can have your wishes, your plans, but at the end of the day, it's out of your control"
- Gayle Forman
"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."
- Neil Gaiman
Married Bio
It's book 25 of the year.
Hollow City by Ransom Riggs
Also just started Gargantua and Pantagruel by Francois Rabelais. (My co-star brought me the book when we were in The Music Man together. If you've seen the show, it's one of the "scandalous" authors the librarian recommends to the ladies in town. I like a good scandalous book.

Still reading The Goldfinch. Took a break to listen to some random management books for work.
Ruin and Rising had to go back to the library before I was done. Meh. I'm excited to start Isla later this weekend.
I'm somewhere in the 40s for the year. Hoping to make it to 60.
