Re: Tell me your TTC story
Are you TTC or TTA right now? NTNP
Do you have any LOs already? Furbaby
How long have you been trying? Off BCP for 1.5 mo
What made you decide to start trying? Realization that there will never be a "right" time, but we financially stable enough that we can do it, even if it's not where we hoped to be.
Are you doing anything special to help with fertility? Just charting right now and take PNVs.
Have you done/will you do any medicated cycles? No need yet.
Tell us all about it!

~~BFP 7/6/14~~~EDD 3/14/15~~It's a girl!!~~
Do you have any LOs already? Pregnant with our first
How long have you been trying? We started trying in May 2011. First pregnancy in September 2013 ended in a blighted ovum and D&C. Second pregnancy came in April 2014. So almost 3 years.
What made you decide to start trying? We both come from large families and knew we wanted kids soon after marriage. Because DH is a paraplegic and in a wheelchair we thought we might have TTTC, but had no confirmation of that. We thought it would be best to not wait too long.
Are you doing anything special to help with fertility? I temped and used OPKs. I also added acupuncture when we moved onto IVF.
Have you done/will you do any medicated cycles? 3 Clomid/trigger/TI, 2 Bravelle/trigger/IUI, 2 fresh IVF, 1 frozen IVF
dx: Unexplained IF (mild MFI)
TTC since May 2011, 1 year trying, and then 3 TI, 2 IUI = BFN
IVF #1 (May 2013): Antagonist Protocol:24R, 18M, 15F w/ICSI; 5dt of 2 early blasts, no frosties = BFN
IVF #2 (August 2013): Lupron Stop Protocol:
28R, 23M, 15F w/ICSI; 5dt of 1 partially hatched blast, 7 frosties = BFP
EDD 5/23/14, blighted ovum (6w6d), D&C (8w6d)
FET #1 (April 2014): transferred 2 5d blasts = BFP
C.J. born 01/09/15
Are you TTC or TTA right now? TTA
Do you have any LOs already? Yes, Parker, 20 months
How long have you been trying? We've had 2 losses before Parker. We got pregnant in April of 2011 with a little girl we named Addison. We found out at our a/s that she had 3 complicated congenital heart defects. We chose to end our pregnancy, to protect her. It was a terrible time and a horrible decision to make. Most of the oldies here know our stories and were an amazing source of support, whether they agreed with our decision or not. We said goodbye to her on September 27, 2011. Shortly after that, I got pregnant again and we miscarried at 7 weeks. I was so anxious to get pregnant again that I told my RE I wanted to try sooner than she wanted and she let us. I know now that my body was not ready. About 5 months after that, we got pregnant with Parker, and after a tense 17 weeks, we found out that his heart was perfect and beautiful and we did get to take home our rainbow.
What made you decide to start trying? We wanted to be parents
Are you doing anything special to help with fertility? We used Femara due to irregular cycles
Have you done/will you do any medicated cycles? We did 3 cycles of clomid, resulting in Addison, then 5 cycles of femara. I'm not sure what we'll do when we try again. I don't know if we'll try for a while before we see about using Femara again. We won't try again until either I'm finished school or until my due date would be after June or July. I think we'll start talking about it in a few months. I miss being pregnant and I hate that I'll only get to have 2 kids (we've decided that 2 is the most we can responsible consider with finances).
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
Are you TTC or TTA right now? I guess technically we are NNT? We aren't using any birth control. We are mostly abstinent, though.
Do you have any LOs already? ::points at ticker::
How long have you been trying? It took us a year and a loss to get pregnant the first time.
What made you decide to start trying? We felt we were ready, I guess.
Are you doing anything special to help with fertility? The first time I was charting/temping/opk-ing. Max dose of metformin and low carb diet.
Have you done/will you do any medicated cycles? We didn't, unless you count metformin. I don't know if we will in the future. Maybe.
(Hugs) @islandmonkey8 and @Ewenice83
Are you TTC or TTA right now? We aren't preventing but we aren't trying either.
Do you have any LOs already? Owen, 3 months, and furbaby Gus, 5.
How long have you been trying? It took 2 years and 2 losses to get/stay pregnant.
What made you decide to start trying?
We both wanted to have kids and I'd always felt like I might have difficulties (never had an oops pregnancies I deserved to have) so we waited until the end of the summer after we got married, just a few months, and went off BC then, very quickly we moved from NNT to TTC to TTTC.
Are you doing anything special to help with fertility? We tried a lot to end up with a successful pregnancy: Clomid, IUI, acupuncture, chinese herbs, too many supplements to list, gluten/dairy/soy/caffeine free diet, progesterone supplements, baby aspirin.
Have you done/will you do any medicated cycles? we did 3 clomid/TI and 2 clomid/IUI cycles. both IUI cycles led to bfp's and losses.
like @cassieandlizzie I'm struggling with the thought of trying again and having another loss but we aren't ready to try quite yet anyways.
Cycle 8,9,10 - 50mg Clomid - BFN
Are you TTC or TTA right now?
TTC
Do you have any LOs already?
Just our furbaby
How long have you been trying?
About 13 months
What made you decide to start trying?
Well, I was ready to try the moment we got married! We waited for DH to be done with grad school and to have insurance through work. Started trying in August 2013
Are you doing anything special to help with fertility?
On and off OPKs, temping/charting, diet changes to help with PCOS
Have you done/will you do any medicated cycles?
I'm planning on that we will have to and opened a separate savings account to start a treatment fund. Until we're ready to try that I'm trying diet changes.
08/13: Started TTC - 07/14: PCOS dx
BFP 09/18/15 - Baby S 05/27/16
Are you TTC or TTA right now? We are TTC.
Do you have any LOs already? Only one furbaby, Sammy (guinea pig)
How long have you been trying? Since December 2013 with a break in there somewhere of a month or two.
What made you decide to start trying? DH and I have wanted kids for years but I wanted to wait until we were married. Once we were married in June of 2013, I decided to stay on BCP until after our honeymoon in August because I didn't want a surprise period while we were on a cruise to the Bahamas. I started Metformin in October and we officially started trying in December.
Are you doing anything special to help with fertility? I'm currently taking PNV, Metformin (for PCOS/Insulin Resistance) and most recently I started Synthroid (for under-active thyroid.) I've also been using OPKs.
Have you done/will you do any medicated cycles? No medicated cycles yet. We are still in the testing stage at this point. I recently had CD3 blood work done and I am having a trans-vaginal ultrasound this Thursday. I'm sure medicated cycles are in our future though.
Currently on Metformin and Synthroid
EDD: 6.15.15
Team Green to Team Pink! Baby A born
Here comes 2u2! Team Green to Team Blue! Baby L born
Do you have any LOs already? DS will be two in three weeks. #2 is due mid November. This is it for us.
How long have you been trying? March 2010 gave us an unplanned pregnancy (long story). I miscarried around 7w. We waited until September 2010 to officially ttc. I moved on to clomid in late spring. BFP #2 was in July 2011 and lost a few weeks later. BFP #3 was in October 2011, but lost a couple of weeks later. January 2012 we started treatment with an RE and the first cycle resulted in BFP #4. So, it was about two years of trying for DS #1. DS #2 took a little over a year, had one failed cycle with the re, had another cycle cancelled with the re, I had surgery to remove polyps, then BFP #5 with this baby. Apparently my body doesn't like to get or stay pregnant without coaxing.
What made you decide to start trying? We felt like we wanted to become parents but hadn't really decided anything official. The surprise pregnancy changed everything.
Are you doing anything special to help with fertility? I temped, used opk's, drank Pom, are pineapple core, took green tea supplements, had a lot of sex, didn't have a lot of sex, kept my feet in the air. Turns out, none of that worked for us. Femara + trigger + progesterone - polyps is what seems to be our formula.
Have you done/will you do any medicated cycles? 4 clomid cycles, 3 femara/trigger cycles.
It has been a really long 4.5 years. After this birth I plan to go on bcp to stop my body from showing signs of O'ing and such. I'm afraid I won't be able to break this habit of ttc if I don't. If tube tying was covered, I would seriously consider it. I want my life back. I want our normal sex life back. I want to forget all of the fertility knowledge that I have acquired since joining this board in summer/fall 2010. We are extremely blessed to have our son and another son on the way. It's time to be at peace with TTA.
