Mommy & Mommy 2 Be Monday!

Re: Mommy & Mommy 2 Be Monday!

  • @Aimothy I did the same thing when I had to buy my stroller! Kohls is totally the way to go for something like that, especially if they send you cash back too! I was able to get cash back and buy maternity clothes
  • @mrshall1027 I would bet the pressure is the way baby is laying in there or from things growing.  I had that issue between 21 weeks and 27 when baby finally flipped to head down.  Then it seemed to take a lot of the pressure off.

As for ultrasounds, if everything is going fine then they likely won't do another one until the very end if they need to.  My practice doesn't do any after the anatomy scan unless there's an issue or your fundal height is measuring too high or low (the midwife doesn't get concerned unless it's +/- 3).  As far as internal exams, my practice puts this in my hands but I can start getting checked at 36 weeks and would weekly.  However, they will ask me at each appointment whether or not I want to be checked for dilation or effacement.  So far my plan is to not get checked until 39 weeks and at that point they will do a membrane sweep if I'm slightly dilated.

  • @mrshall1027 - I definitely experienced that pressure feeling as well. If I sat for too long I would have pain when walking but it subsided after 30 weeks. I think baby has moved so there isn't as much pressure as usual. My doctor pretty much said it's round ligament pain from your uterus expanding so much right now. When it gets really rough I do some prenatal yoga stretches and it helps tremendously.

My OB office normally does the last ultrasound at 20 weeks but I am measuring a little big right now so they are doing one tomorrow to see how she is doing.

Yep! Totally got $40 cash back that I applied to purchasing our Rock and Play.  Combined with the 20% off baby sale deal, I got the Graco one, originally $80, for only $31, including shipping and handling.

  • @mrshall1027‌ I'm not sure what to tell you about the pressure, but after your a/s, most OBs won't give you another u/s unless there's a reason. I got my last u/s once I passed 40 weeks because they wanted to make sure my fluid levels were good since I was allowed to go up to 42 weeks if everything was fine.

  • Thanks for replies and input!  You guys made me feel better.  If the pressure issues persist or get worse, I'll definitely let my doctor know. :)
