Student ID

So I've heard that Student ID's can get you discounts. Have you ever gotten a good deal with your ID? Also, is there a database that lists all the places, or do I need to ask each business?

Re: Student ID

  • Check with your college.

For me: cable, Internet, movie theaters, plays, local banks had deals for students only to encourage saving, etc. Oh and Amazon Prime!

  • Depends on your area.

I have received discounts at restaurants, movie theaters, bars, and the biggest savings in Las Vegas. With your student ID, you can get up to 50% off shows in Las Vegas, which is a pretty good deal.

  • I use my student e-mail for Amazon Prime Student. I believe it ends up being about half off. I graduated in May but am still using it. I plan on going back next fall and my e-mail is good for two years after each new semester I attend.
  • It's kind of like a senior discount, some places advertise it, others you have to ask. Never hurts to ask, the worse they can say is no and you're paying full price which is what you were expecting.
  • Talk with your college, they should have a list of all places in your town that caters to college students.
