Bra Washing: Be honest

How often do you actually wash your bras?

Facetious images of the hour (01:28:10 AM, Monday 02, February 2015 PST) – 10 pics

I have 4 or 5 bras that I actually wear regularly. Maybe it's gross, but
in the winter I probably will wear the same bra for a 2-3 days. I have
no boobs and sit in an office all day, so I don't feel like it gets
dirty.

  • BTW, I wouldn't even normally bother posting this, but since things are so dead, I figured WTH.

  • I wear 3ish bras regularly and they get washed once a week.  So about 2-3 wears.  I didn't think that was gross.  Is it?

  • I probably wash about every 3 wears or so. It depends on the conditions they were worn in, TBH. I hand wash them only, machines seem to eat my bras.

  • I throw them out and buy new ones.  I am a habitual bra buyer.

  • For my dailywear bras, it's 2 or 3 wears because I work in an office. If I'm doing something sweaty like moving all the storage boxes, then I'll throw it in the hamper right away. It's only 1 wear for my gym clothes.

  • Same for me.  I have 3 I wear regularly and they get washed on Sundays.

I don't feel like it is that gross. I wear a sports bra when exercising and that is different. That gets washed all the time.

  • Sports bras are definitely a one wash wear...other than that....yeah....the rest can make it quite a while between washings :p
  • Weekly but then again I really only wear 3 bras on a regular rotation because they're nursing bras. Can't wait to be done pumping and get fitted for actual bras.

FFWC- I only have one proper bra right now and a couple of sports bras.
Bras my size are hard to find and expensive. So it gets washed every week, it sucks but it is what it is.
  • I wear one sports bra overnight and usually one daytime bra. I currently do laundry every four days (E only has 4 pairs of pjs so I do laundry when he runs out) so my bras get washed then.

I wear them about twice before washing but I give it a breather day/s in between. If I've done more physical things than sit around an office, I'll probably wash it after wearing. More washing in summertime.DH was grossed out when I sniffed to check whether they needed washing. Sometimes I can't remember!

I have way more than 2-4 bras. Is that the standard? I just recently happened into a style and brand that fits me correctly So I bought a few.
  • I wear my bras for about week then wash. I only wear to work then come home and put a sports bra on or go braless if I have no plans, I sit in an office so it isn't getting too dirty.

  • @fabk love tits in support of expensive difficult to find bras.

I have 2 nursing bras that I wear. They get washed more often than my bras before I started leaking all over then but they still get worn for a week then washed probably.

Now I do have some nursing tanks I will wear during the day if I am not leaving the house so it's not like I wear them 7 days straight. I also have been hand washing them and hang to dry (bras and tanks) so it's a PITA.

After reading this thread I am not going to admit hold long between washings they would go before baby.

Sports bras or anything I sweat in gets washed after one wear.  Day to day wear?  I have 2-3 bras that I rotate through and they each get washed once a week.  More in the summer.

  • @fabk -I feel ya. The only bras that fit me and last more than one month are 70-80 buck each, so I baby them and try to make them last. I don't usually own more than 3 or 4 bras for everyday use at any given time. (not counting sports bras, sleep bras, etc)

  • I can't think of a time that a daily wear bra got really disgusting. I live in a cold place, and I don't really have sweaty boobs. I'll regularly go 5-6 wears between washes if it's the right material. If it's something like a cotton blend, then all bets are off.

That said... If I find hot weather somewhere, I'll be down to 2-3 wears even for a good fabric. And when I sink-washed my bras on our Cambodia trip, I was pretty shocked to see how dirty they were getting after just one or two wears.

    Taco can judge me!

Jeans are another story. I hate washing jeans.  The worst is if I spill something on them after I just washed them and have to wash them again.  I figure, I'm the only one who wears them, I don't belong to the commando camp, and if I only wear them to work and then take them off at 5pm, they are probably ok for several wears. Freshly laundered jeans are the devil.
