So, it gets better? It doesn't? The beginning is unbearably slow and I have a stupid giant hardcover that makes it worse because my arms get tired when I read it.

Nope, it doesn't get better. The sub-group of obnoxious self-titled "Outlander Mafia" girls are wildly obsessed with these books because they're unbearably slow and boring and never get better.
We won't even talk about the sub-group of People Who Hate The Question "Does It Get Better?"....

I'd love to be able to get more into it because honestly I want to see where else the story goes and how it progresses. I see people saying how much they love other books in the series, and I want to get to that point of really being into the story. But I'm not yet, because I'm having trouble getting into this book.
