DH and I are going to my uncle's wedding this week. We have been carefully planning out this trip so that we could have fun, but still save money since we are budgeting more in order to tackle debt. Well, I am proud to say, we came in under budget! We are going from Monday until Thursday, and budgeted $600 for everything (plane tickets, hotels, entertainment and food). We strategically used MyVegas Slots on Facebook to earn rewards (if you haven't used it and ever go to Vegas, start doing it), and used a discount airline to save money. Here's our breakdown:
Summary of Expenses
2 plane tickets: $220.88 (saved $96)
Allegiant Air is a small airline that flies direct between our town and Las Vegas. I scoured their fares for weeks until they dropped to $158 a ticket. Then, I drove to the airport to purchase. If you buy in person, you automatically save $40 (online fees) and then if you pay with a debit card you save an extra $8 per ticket. So that was a $96 savings.
3 Night Hotel Stay: $167.50 (saved $55)
We booked two nights through hotels.com and got 2 free buffet passes ($50 value). Then, we booked one night through MyVegas rewards ($55 value). The total cost is increased because all the hotels on The Strip charge you a resort fee of $28 per night.
Entertainment (show tickets & spa): $119
(saved $336)
Through MyVegas rewards we booked a buy one get one free ticket for Terry Fator, the comedian/ventriloquist, so it cost $119 (saved $119 for additional ticket). Then we each booked a free ticket to Cirque du Solelil’s Zarkana for free through MyVegas ($99 per ticket value). Lastly, we found a groupon for $19
(reg. $40) for 2 to visit a Spa with hot tubs and mineral baths.
Meals: $85.88 (saved $94)
We used MyVegas rewards to get a buy one get one free to the Bellagio Buffet, which saved us $24. Then we also used our previously mentioned
Monte Carlo buffet passes we got free through hotels.com ($50 value). Then we got an additional buy one get one free to the Mirage buffet, which saved $20.
The remaining meals we ate at Chipotle and Subway and my uncle’s wedding.
Total: $593.26 (saved $581 or 49% discount)

What?!? All the hotels on the Strip now charge a $28/night resort fee? Yikes! How the times have changed. I remember when you could book weekday nights on the Strip for $28/night, lol.
Congrats on all those savings! Nice!
