Low - my wine hangover today!

High - I was elected treasurer of a large junior board in town!

Low - H was out until 2:30 in the morning last night doing law firm socializing/networking stuff.  I was absolutely beside myself and kind of let him have it this morning.

  • High - Welcoming new dog Benny into our home

Low - H and his time management, and him getting upset with me when he doesn't get to bed until 10 pm (he gets up at 1:30am) when he chose to watch a movie instead of washing dishes right after dinner.

Low - Still trying to get back to juggling home and work along with baby.  Not going so well.

  • High - Making great progress on the room preparations and curriculum for our home school, which we are starting this fall for our DS who is 5.

Low - More of an annoyance. Our AMEX had fraud on it - today actually. The cards are cancelled and we're waiting for new ones. AMEX contacted us for an out of pattern transaction.

  • High: Just a really great week with husband, he's been very encouraging and helpful as I've been preparing to ask for a raise before our 2016 work budget is finalized.

Low: We're dealing with a lawsuit at work and we just got served for the document discovery. So I've been sorting through gross old, water-damaged file boxes for the last three days so that we can respond to the request with our own request for more time. They're so unorganized and gross.
  • High: We are one week closer to finding out if we're moving. H interviews in less than a week. I feel like I've been talking about moving forever, but with a life event that big hanging in the balance, it's taking over my whole life.

Low: I've been in and out of the office all week facilitating job family meetings. I really enjoy them, but being gone is hard. I feel like I never truly catch up when I'm that far behind.

I changed my mind.  My high for this week was without a doubt the SCOTUS decision in Obergefell v. Hodges.

Not to get too political on these boards, but it's about time!
    Love this.

High of the week: scoring a case of free beer.

Low: sluggish Friday because of said beer.

  • High & Low: meeting with our REA.

He thinks our house is great and we feel the same. However we bought our house prior to 2010, goodbye house value. He ran all the comps of what has sold and what's on the market. After reviewing and crunching the numbers, we've decided to stay put for another year. We'll meet with him again in the spring to run numbers again. Bonus that he's going to help us figure out our property line issue, which pretty much means we move our fence or offer $ for an extra 5 to 10 feet of property (we don't want to move the fence/landscaping). He is working on getting us a good survey rate and offered to handle the paper work and title stuff at no cost.

low is for dh - he has another builder bid everything out for his photog studio and it came out 100k over budget so now it looks like he will be his own general contractor and get it done himself.  kind of daunting since he's never done it before but he does have help from his architect so now he starts calling to get bids on everything.  most likely he will have to go down to part time on his photography so he has time to do this.

  • High-A press release I wrote got picked up by a well-read local news site. Also, this mornings's SCOTUS announcement :)

Low-I did something super dumb this morning. We are going to a concert festival this weekend, and I couldn't find my email to print the tickets anywhere, nor could I find a record of the CC transaction. We assumed I somehow screwed up the purchase, and I bought a pair of tickets on StubHub. Once we got out here, I was reminded that a friend bought our tickets back in December and we wrote him a check to pay for them. I am a HUGE idiot. So, so dumb. Hoping to recoup a little money selling the second set at a loss.

High--Starting my new job as an Executive Director. It's exciting and terrifying at the same time. It's essentially a career dream that literally just fell into my lap quite a few years earlier than I thought possible. I feel confident and prepared, but stressed like crazy with the level of responsibilities.

Low--Working 70+ hours this week just trying to keep my head above water and realizing this will be the new "normal" for the next few months until I get myself settled in and comfortable. While I love being salaried, it's weeks like this when I secretly wish I was hourly.

  • High- I have my flower girls over for our 2nd anual sleepover. They are getting older, 12, 9, and 9 but I am hoping I can convince them to do it for several more years.

Low- I spent $100 on new shorts that actually fit. Being a size 10 while wearing size 6 is unflattering and honestly painful. It was needed but not budgeted and I could have held off.

  • High - My very first real estate investment (non owner-occupied) passed through underwriting and is still going smoothly.  I should hopefully close within two weeks.

Low - My tenants who live on the other side of my duplex gave their 30-day notice.  I am SUPER, super bummed out about it.  It's just coming at an extra bad time because they'll be leaving right as I'm just start my reno for house above :(.  I find doing showings to be the most stressful part of being a landlady.  I just hate the uncertainty of it all.

  • High- I went two showers this weekend one for a wedding and one for a baby, I just love seeing my friends so happy and excited to start new journeys with their lives. I also got to spend one on one time with my dad which rarely happens Friday so I was very excited to do that. :)

Low- I live in MD and during all the terrible rain we got our basement flooded, so we had about an inch of water in it. Thankfully it was the unfinished side, but H was out of town as well at a bachelor party so I was left to deal with it on my own. Very frustrating.
