When did you start posting on NBC? Summer 2008

What were your first impressions? Everyone was Twilight crazy and I was not, but I knew I'd found my internet home!

What was the first post you started? I think it was about Jodi Picoult and my love for her. haha. Oh, Past Jacki, you had no idea how formulaic she was

Any favorite NBC moments? I used to LOVE when we did Haiku fridays.

Have you met NBC girls IRL? Lots! I've even vacationed with their families. Yay, GTGs!

When did you start posting on NBC?
I think I ventured over from International Nesties early in 2009, since my first seasonal book challenge was SBC 2009.

What were your first impressions?

Lots of Twilight and lots of Harry Potter. YA was definitely the majority genre at the time.

When did you start posting on NBC? Some time in 2009. Twilight was still alive and kicking but it was starting to settle down.

What were your first impressions? That I'd found by people. People who love reading as much as I do and are damn proud of it.

What was the first post you started? Something about Dragonfly in Amber. I think it might of been a 'does this get better' post. Oh how much I have learned.

Any favorite NBC moments? I will always remember that June lost it (rightfully so) on the drunk driving girl. Gosh, there are so many!

Have you met NBC girls IRL? Quite a few. I love meeting NBC ladies.

Looking at my post history, we used to talk about such random things. We should do that again. I feel like we've kind of funneled to mostly book talk with a few other things. Maybe we just don't have the attendance we used to.

I can't really remember anything specific. Kapow comes to mind. That gif is burned in my brain.

Unfortunately, no. I know we had talked about a Mid-Atlantic GTG but nothing every came of it.

I agree, that we should just post more, not even necessarily about books, although that is always welcome. Our attendance is in the crapper lately, myself included.

When did you start posting on NBC? Sometime in 2010. I have been a member of the knot/nest/whatever since 2004 but rarely posted until I had a kid and started staying home. I worked retail before and did not have internet access during the day. Once I was home I began reading much more and have posted sporadically since.

What were your first impressions? Lots of YA. That was my genre of choice then so I was hooked.

What was the first post you started? I think it was a post about the Vampire Academy series.

What was the first post you started? I don't know. I had a different screen name back then.

Any favorite NBC moments? I've had a lot of them. A few of them had me crying from laughing so hard.

Have you met NBC girls IRL? Many! Pinky, YL, Elistar, Hoycie, 84Lauren, booneybear, myjunegirls, Julie, smash, and other people whose screen names I don't remember and I don't want to post their real names.

What were your first impressions? Love. Like everyone else has said, it was like I found my people.

What was the first post you started? I don't remember at all.

Any favorite NBC moments? I used to love the literary Trivial Pursuit questions once a week. They were usually sort of esoteric and I was always so proud of myself when I got them right! Hiaku days were awesome, too! There was also a period when there were some ARC tours going on, and book tours where everyone would sign the book, and that was a lot of fun, too. Can we do another one of those? And elfster exchanges where we sent each other books, music, local stuff. You all are right, there used to be so much more going on, but I guess it's an attendance thing.

Have you met NBC girls IRL? Yup! I love my New England NBCers! I'd love to meet more of you guys, though.

When did you start posting on NBC? I used a different screen name but originally came over here around early 2009.

What were your first impressions? That I finally found people who love books like I do.

What was the first post you started? I honestly cannot remember, I lurked for the longest time before I felt comfortable posting.

Any favorite NBC moments? I don't have any that stick out, just always enjoyed when there was more attendance and people actually posted.

Any favorite NBC moments? When the board was alive and I would have multiple windows open of posts that I would refresh every 5 minutes at work instead of actually working.

When did you start posting on NBC? I have no idea. I started on the Nest in 2003.

What were your first impressions? I remember being a bit scared to post, everyone seemed to be friends already, and I had new kid in school syndrome.

What was the first post you started? I have no idea. Is there somewhere I can find this? My memory is no bueno.

Any favorite NBC moments? Nothing in particular. I loved our exchanges (when they went well).

Have you met NBC girls IRL? A couple. Pebblecafe (Are you even still pebble cafe, V?) And a couple lurkers.

What were your first impressions? I was just happy to see people talking about books I was reading. None of my friends are avid readers so it gives me an opportunity to get recommendations and opinions from other people.

What was the first post you started? It was about The Bronze Horseman

When did you start posting on NBC? April of...2008, I think. I can't even remember when I got married, but it was around that time that I discovered NBC.

What were your first impressions? BOOKS! There are places on the internet for people who love books!

What was the first post you started? An intro post. And everyone was SO friendly, I was instantly hooked.

What was the first post you started? Zero clue.

Any favorite NBC moments? Too many to think through. I loved our initial quarterly challenges but then got way too busy. It wasn't necessarily a favorite time but do you remember the huge blowup with the caribbean nesties? We all bonded together there a bit.

Have you met NBC girls IRL? It feels like tons (but still not enough.) Julie, Jen748, hoycie, JenE, Booney, Funkypineapple, Jacki, Pinky, kelsnotchels, Smash, elistar, bnl03, Katiechols(?) and a few others that I could guess at screen names but no one would have any idea who I'm talking about!

Who do I miss? Come back Smash & Leah & Heather, ashley T and jinandtonic!

Any favorite NBC moments? I like when I pick up something because it was so highly recommended and love it! This happened for the Outlander series, Kate Daniels, and The Martian. Also, I randomly remember booney saying something about wanting to slide face first down someone's perfect abs; I still think that was pretty funny. I enjoyed doing exchanges, too, and Madison Mondays!

Have you met NBC girls IRL? Yep! I've meet a few nesties in the New England area and would love to meet more! I dream of a massive g2g at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, even though I'm not much of a roller coaster fan. In the meantime, any NOVA/MD ladies want to g2g?

What was the first post you started? It was actually about Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere. I remember talking to @booneybear about how much I loved him. She was the first NBCer I bonded with

Any favorite NBC moments? Um, far, far too many to count. But the day someone called Jamie a sadist pig and the Mafia had a freaking heart attack is up there. The day the "plaid cave" was invented. When we all read Game of Thrones on the board. Gail's birthday posts. The days when we would literally just post GIFs of Damon all day. When everyone was dying over TBH. Awhora.

When did you start posting on NBC? Not sure...2010ish?? I lurked for a long time before posting. Was on the knot since 2004 (whoa...). I used to stick to the parenting board before it went crazy and everyone left.

What were your first impressions? There are so many books I need to read!!!! I always loved to read but life got in the way. This board helped me get back into my reading groove. I love this board for introducting me to the Bronze Horseman and Outlander, among so many others.
