    1. How MM was your weekend? It was alright- got some Christmas shopping done for DH ($300), groceries ($80), gas ($25), sold some fabric online (+$60)

    2. Any progress towards goals? Nothing last week

    3. What are your plans for Thanksgiving? We'll be having it at our house with my parents, DH's parents, my aunt, cousin, grandma, and the 4 of us. My parents cook pretty much everything and I just make sure the house is clean, table is set. It's my favorite holiday so I'm really looking forward to it. Relaxing day plus we get Friday off so even better!

    2. Nothing this report, we get paid this week

    3. H is working 12 hours, I will be going to my parents to eat

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Kind of last minute visit from in-laws (known about it for a week), so we spend $15 on lunch out that we had not planned on. But we've been very good on budget this month, so we can pull it from somewhere else. ~$60 on groceries too.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Nope and actually found out about several medical bills we are going to owe some on, so it's looking like we won't pay off SLs until August 2016 instead of the goal of July. Chiropractor had been billing us wrong the whole year, charging copays instead of billing negotiated amounts. And then I've got an outpatient operation tomorrow, so we'll be out about $500 with medical costs by the end of the year.

    3. What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

Spending actual tgiving day at our apartment and making a turkey breast and modest thanksgiving meal. Then decorating for Christmas and enjoying some rum and cokes together while watching netflix. The next morning we'll head to my parents for our delayed thanksgiving meal with my side of the family (sibs and sibs' families). Nothing planned other than spending time with them.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?  It wasn't that great.  $83 at Petco for dog toys--not budgeted but we hadn't bought any new ones in a long time and they were getting restless.  Also included a $5 donation to a local shelter.  $135 groceries, toiletries, cleaning supplies (budgeted); $40 lightbulbs--not budgeted; we had a few lightbulbs around the house that needed replaced and we've been slacking.  Decided to just replace everything.  $25 dinner Saturday--not budgeted but we did have leftovers for lunch the next day.  We cash flowed all of the non-budgeted things but really, we need to be better at buying some things more frequently instead of spending a large chunk of money all at once so it's not as painful.

    2. Any progress towards goals? I opened two new accounts at the bank--one will be a car maintenance sinking fund and one will be a liquid emergency fund.  We have our e-fund in a CD right now but we want to have at least $1K easily accessible in case of a true emergency where we need cash right away.  The goal is to get this up to $1000 by the end of 2016.

    3. What are your plans for Thanksgiving? Flying to Washington state to be with H's mom and a couple of his siblings.  It's been four years since we were able to get time off over a holiday to spend with her so we're pretty excited.  Also might do some Black Friday shopping while we are there.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Err umm, I spent over budget at the grocery store by about $40.  I misjudged how much all this Thanksgiving food will cost.  I also ordered 2 new dresses for work at Target, but it was buy one get one 50% off so I spent around $45, so not bad.  My manager reprimanded me for a pair of pants I wore that she thought looked too much like leggings, so I had to move the new work clothes higher on the priority list.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

No, but I don't get paid til Friday.  Will be moving money to savings then.

    3. What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

We are hosting.  We have between 8 and 10 coming.  A bit of family, the rest friends.  I'm excited to use all my new wedding registry items, but a bit stressed out otherwise.

  • 1.  My weekend was so-so MM-wise.  I taught a dive class, but there were only two students and, being November, the water was quite cold.  To keep their morale up I got a box of hot chocolate and munchkins for them, and paid for air fills for my assistant, who was barely making enough to cover his gas money.  After we were done Sunday they wanted to get a celebratory lunch.  These expenses made the class somewhat of a wash, since I get paid by the student.  We also spent about $20 on football beer and $25 on nice bottles of wine to bring to our two different Thanksgiving stops.

    2.  I put my check from my last dive class toward our Care Credit, and continued making our floating savings contributions.  I'm totally loving the floating savings account.  We were able to use it to pay for a small vet expense the other day without a second thought.

    3.  In the am I'll do a 5K turkey trot with my best friend.  Then we'll hit MIL's at 1:00 for dinner number one and my parents' around 6:00 for dinner number two.  It'll be a pretty tiring day.
  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Not too bad. I was in Phoenix, AZ for work so my food was paid for by work. Yesterday spent $10 on tip for dinner out with H.

    2. Any progress towards goals? Not a pay week, so no.

    3. What are your plans for Thanksgiving? My dad is having his knee replaced Wednesday so I'm in charge of taking him home Thanksgiving and getting him settled in at the house. :) Planning to spend the day with him so he isn't lonely on a holiday.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Spendy, but see progress below.  My inlaws came to visit this weekend, and so groceries cost a bit more than usual.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

H hit is billable goals for high bonus on Friday.  He spent a portion of it on new golf clubs.  There has been this one set at Costco that's been there since the summer that they have been discounting.  We saw it on Saturday for $400, marked down from $580.  So that was his gift to himself for a job well done.  We will probably use the rest of his bonus toward furniture or the trip with my parents next summer, but we're not going to spend it until we see exactly how much is left after taxes and the golf clubs (he's been told gross amount, but net will be different).

I haven't heard about my bonus yet, but I will probably hear in a couple weeks.  In other news, I have one last exam until I'm done with my LLM stuff for the year.  7 classes down, 5 to go before I get the degree.  I'm really happy to get a break until January.

    3. What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

Visiting my parents for Thanksgiving Day, seeing H's parents the day after.  Then decorating the house for Christmas!

  • ours was good.  Friday night we got a pizza ($10) and got a few items from the grocery store ($15). Saturday we took advantage of Old Navy's pre black friday sale ($69).  Sunday I spent $5 at an acro yoga class.

    No goals this week met

For Thanksgiving we are going to my moms house and pretty much chill the rest of the day.

    1. How MM was your weekend?
    - Spendy but fun! We spent $110 total on going out for three days. $40 at the bar with friends on Friday, $35 for lunch with my cousin after a craft show on Saturday, $35 for H and his buddy for beer and pizza on Saturday night. I also spent almost $200 between the craft show and Kirkland's.

    2. Any progress towards goals?
    - $550 to savings.

    3. What are your plans for Thanksgiving?
    - Nothing. My family no longer gets together to celebrate Thanksgiving, H's family lives too far away, and H is working a full shift. I'll put up all the Christmas stuff, though.
  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Good and bad.  My birthday was Friday so my H and I went to a 4-star restaurant for lunch $77.  But it was actually a mystery shop also, so the company will ultimately pay $65 of that.  Fancy b-day lunch paid for by someone else, win-win.  The restaurant even had the menus they gave us printed with "Happy Birthday, Jennifer (my first name)".

Then Sat. our Xbox, that we use as a DVR died, so I got a new one from Walmart.  Normally $149 on sale for $139, so at least I saved $10.  Plus I did my order online for pick-up through My Points, so I'll get about $9 worth of points.  We knew it was on its last legs, so we were anticipating this expense.  Still a bummer.  This is the older Xbox version, not the $350 newer one.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

    Paid $900 toward my HELOC.

    3. What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

Neither my H or I have family in the area, so TG is a super mellow day for us.  I have a $15 coupon off a turkey with no minimum purchase, so it will probably be free or close to it :).  We'll cook that baby up, along with some yummy sides.  I'll have apple cider in the crock pot with a bottle of Crown Royal Green Apple at the ready.  My go-to holiday cocktail ;)

The cat and dog will be permanent kitchen stalkers.  They will get fat and happy on the copious bits of turkey that will be sneaked to them.

I have Friday off and I'm not going anywhere.  Same with Sunday.  But I'll use that time to get stuff done around the house.  Saturday is my p/t pic job, plus I have some fast food mystery shop lunches...so that will be a bit of a busy day.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

    • Weekend was great! I didn't really leave the house, so I didn't spend any money. We just lounged around.
    • The real challenge: DH and I have ALL WEEK OFF --every time we have an extended break, we have to challenge ourselves not to buy things
    • Today--I spent $88 at Costco--bought two pairs of gloves, two pairs of work pants, a long sleeve shirt and 4 sticks of Dove deodorant

    2. Any progress towards goals?

    • Not really applicable. We are making payments on loans and switching money to savings next week.

    3. What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

    • DH's mom is working this year and she usually cooks an elaborate meal. So this year, we are just hanging out at home, cooking regular food and DH will watch football. We will have "Thanksgiving Dinner" on Friday night instead.

    2. Any progress towards goals?
Not this week. Cash flowing auto insurance (approx $900 for our 6 month coverage term).

    3. What are your plans for Thanksgiving?
Traveling to visit family and celebrating my birthday early!

Sorry about the medical bill mix up. That stinks!

Thanks! It shouldn't be too bad when we get a final number, but we were pushing it to make our July goal of debt payoff already, so an extra $250 for DH's chiropractor visits combined with about $350ish (hopefully) for my procedure is enough to push us back a month.
  • 1. Friday $0, Saturday $93 on groceries (budgeted) and Sunday $20 for DH office supplies (not budgeted). We did resist the temptation of eating out all weekend, pretty proud of that!

    2. No progress this week.

    3. We are spending Thanksgiving at DH's aunt's home with his side of the family and Friday we will visit my family for dinner #2!
