Places where you bleed money

Re: Places where you bleed money

  • I'm another one with an eating out downfall. Fancy coffee too. We don't go to bars or other kinds of costly entertainment, so going out for coffee or lunch tends to be a substitute. Luckily we've gotten much better about it since we started budgeting in July. FI even compromised that he wouldn't eat out at all for three months so he could buy a new Xbox instead, and he stuck to it! Meal planning has definitely helped so we didn't just cut down on eating out and switch to expensive convenience foods from the store.
I need to figure out somewhere to go to study besides Starbucks. I'd go to the library, but I still like having something to drink or eat with me. If anyone has any ideas let me know!
  • I wouldn't say we really bleed money on a regular basis. We are pretty good about not spending money on "stuff" but sometimes it comes in bursts if we do, but it's things we really need. The things we've spent money on in the last few months are things for the new house (yard tools, shed etc), new TV/furniture for the mancave and Christmas Décor. But these are things that we will use for years...not things that are just disposable and get a one time use so I'm ok with "bleeding" that kind of money.
  • I would have to agree and say food and alcohol for H and I as well!  What can we say we love to eat!
  • eating out, bath and body works, and homegoods!
  • eating out and stuff for my daughter!! And now that we are in the new house, I've spent a serious amount on everything I want to get us settled. Woops. But it's feeling more like home because of it ;)
