2016 Goals and Resolutions
What are yours - book-related and non-book related?
Re: 2016 Goals and Resolutions
Book goals - Hit my reading challenge goal of 116 books for the year. Last year was the first year I didn't make it.
Non-Book goals - Get healthy, loose weight, eat better, get back to exercising. Also, purge and organize my house. Not let the little things bother me and yell less at my kids lol.
I'm going to try to unplug more. At work, it's hard, but at home, I'm going to try to leave my phone on the counter and stay off my ipad more. I'm too connected.

Not really a resolution, but my goal for this year is to really work on learning French. I am self teaching, so it's difficult. The weird thing is, my English doesn't get in the way. My Spanish does. I want to pronounce everything like you would in Spanish, and use Spanish grammar rules. Sigh. I'm having fun learning, though! I love languages, and this is my fourth. English, Spanish, ASL, and now French. Japanese is next. I am by no means fluent in all of these, but I'm working on it!

The Dave Grohl one (This is a Call) was good, but it wasn't really insightful, and I think it was a bit premature. He's so young and kind of at the prime of his career, so it just seems like he's still got a lot of fantastic shit to do yet. I prefer autobios when I can get them, too. It was interesting, though, and if you're a fan, it was worth reading.
Anthony Keidis's Scar Tissue was amazing. I might be biased because the Red Hot Chili Peppers have been one of my favorite bands for as long as I can remember paying attention to music, but I've heard a lot of people say they loved that book.
Motley Crue's The Dirt was one of my other favorites. It's written in chunks by each band member to tell a whole story from a few angles, which is neat. I was never much of a fan of them; I liked their radio songs, but I don't think I ever owned an album. I always had a thing for Tommy Lee, though. But that book was insane. The lifestyle that they lived was insane. I went to see them with DH and his cousin a few years ago, and became a fan because they put on a great show. Tommy Lee's book was God-awful, and Nikki Sixx's Heroin Diaries was only worth looking at if you're a fan of him and/or of drug culture memoirs; it was weird. And I can't even with Vince Neil - his parts of The Dirt were the worst.
I could go on all day.

Real-Life: Get a new job and relocate there. Our family's general thought this year is "nourishment" so I'm spending more time and effort to take improved care of our diets, fitness, skin, quality-time, and education.
The big goal for 2016 is to save ALL the money. We want to buy a house this year and go to Europe next year so we need to save every penny. I also just want to keep exercising regularly and tracking what I eat.

Are there any good Eddie Vedder/PJ ones? I have a friend who is so beyond obsessed with EV that I think it would be fun/funny to be more knowledgeable on him.
Do you know of any that discuss the 90's Seattle scene? More so I would love like a family tree of grunge. So and so was in this band with this person, but they left. Then so and so died and they became this band. It's so warped that I would love to get a good grasp on it.

I haven't synced my library to my Kindle. I'm too afraid of people seeing what I've read. So embarrassing.
I don't think anyone can see what I have read from the library. Unless I share it from Goodreads.
