I'm 37 weeks so I'm full term. Yay! Very uncomfortable, haha, but I think that's pretty normal. Little Sister hasn't turned head down yet which I believe is part of the discomfort. It has me stressing out since the longer she takes to turn head down the less likely she will. She varies between breech (head up) and transverse (sideways). My doctor brought up scheduling a c-section since baby is still breech. I get that she wants to schedule it in advance to be prepared but I hate the idea. I feel like we should just wait until I go into labor and if she is still breech then do a c-section. Am I naive for thinking this?
I'm going to talk to my doctor at my appointment this week. She pretty much sprung the c-section thing on me at the end of my appointment last week when I'd already been there for over an hour, it was almost 5 pm and my toddler was being a terror. So I didn't really have questions or think much about it until I was driving home. It's really been stressing me out since then. I know that having a healthy baby delivered is what's the most important. I just really really would love to not have a c-section. Plus I'm extra annoyed because I had to see two different doctors at the practice at the two appointments before that last one and neither of them said a word about a possible c-section. So I feel like I could have been more prepared, had my questions answered sooner, if it wasn't such a last minute thing. I have questions for the hospital as well but I've already had my appointment with them. I'm sure part of my stress/irritation is just pregnancy hormones.
Re: Baby Update
Personally, I think way too many doctors are willing to do scheduled C-sections. It worried us enough that the first time we met with our doctor, we made sure that everyone was on the same page about baby comes when baby comes unless there's a darn good reason to do otherwise.
As long as there isn't anything concerning in the ultrasound, they have my c-section scheduled for Jan 11th. If she turns head down then we will cancel it.
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
Little Josie is also measuring right on track if not a little small. Lily was small too so I'm not worried. So I'm measuring big either from extra fluid or her position. Or maybe my doctor just measures weird???
