NMMR Weekend Plans

What's everyone up to? Will you be impacted by the storm?

Re: NMMR Weekend Plans

  • Friday: Yoga class and relax

Saturday: I'm signed up for a "winter wildlife tour" of Boston Harbor with some friends. The storm isn't supposed to arrive until the afternoon now, so they haven't cancelled it. The weather actually could push a lot of birds of north, so it could be neat. If it's freezing and miserable, this boat has an indoor area with a bar :)

Sunday: Yoga if weather allows and then watch the Pats at home. They're only predicting a couple of inches here now.
  • Saturday is my birthday.  Snow is predicted to start sometime today.  We're supposed to get about a foot.  Didn't have plans to go anywhere anyway, so we'll just sit and enjoy the scenery.  Maybe let the little one go play in it.

  • We're planning to spend our snowed in weekend with our neighbors. :) I'll be hitting the liquor store after work tonight and then planning to hang out with them tonight and tomorrow. We're supposed to get 1-2 feet. H works OT on Sunday so I plan to spend the day hopefully cleaning the house and doing laundry, if we have power. :/ They are predicting mass power outages which will be terrible.
  • Saturday- we're planning on going to lunch and to the grocery store. That's all that's planned, we'll see if anything else comes up.

Sunday- H is going out to watch football with his friends and I might drive into the city to spend some time with my uncles and my cousin.

A pretty chill weekend; really I'm just happy to not have to work tomorrow, so I'll take it : )
  • We are supposed to get coating-4", but it's still up in the air, they are having a hard time predicting the amount for this storm...but it's going to start sometimes Saturday late morning to afternoon.

    Friday- Homemade pizza night, gym

Saturday- Supposed to have a friend over for dinner, but not sure pending weather. Otherwise, decorating the man-cave as the furniture came. Work on painting the bathroom

Sunday- Setting up our game systems, laundry/cleaning, more bathroom painting. H is having a friend over to watch a football game.

  • No major plans, just need to rest up and try to get rid of this cold/sinus infection.

We might go to a bread making class and out to church.  Otherwise, probably staying in and watching movies and getting stuff done around the house.

We are supposed to get 1-3"   If we do get snow the most disappointing thing for me will not being able to go outside and play in it (I hope I'm never too old to go sledding!) since I'm still sick.

Ditto to the sledding! Love it! Our house doesn't have much of a hill to sled on..but we don't even have sno tubes to sled with...I asked H if we could still play in the snow lol.
  • No major plans, like @csuave I still have some remaining vestiges from my super bad cold.  Going on 3 weeks now!  Meh!

I want to get some reading done.  Educational/self help instead of fluff...for once, lol.  Now that I am feeling better, I also need to get back to my organizing/purging of belongings.

I'm way too far south for the storm, though our temperatures are dropping 10-20 degrees over the next few days from what they have been.  I'm assuming that is related.  I would complain about the lows being in the super chilly mid 30s, but I don't expect any sympathy :).

For those of you in the path of bad weather, hunker down!  May your power stay on and your hot cocoa stay warm.

Tonight:  Bootcamp class.  First one since I was about 4 months pregnant.  It's going to be rough.
Tomorrow:  DD's 1 year pictures, including her cake smash. :-)  Can't wait!  Then my mom and I are going to get pedicures for our upcoming vacations, and I need to get groceries and some supplies for vacation and DD's 1st birthday party.
Sunday:  Church then spending the day with H's side of the family.  His aunt is in town from AZ.
Wow, time flies!  Happy birthday to your DD!
  • It's rainy today with a high of 45.  It's supposed to ice/snow a little overnight, but I don't think the ground will be cold enough for it to really stick.  If it does stick, the high is 38 tomorrow, so it will all melt.  That's good.  Nobody can drive in it around here.

Tonight: Pizza night and hopefully the end of a 2-week arbitration which has consumed H's life.  He might have some post-hearing briefs to file, but the major stuff will be done.

Tomorrow: Our local Pottery Barn is having an early morning dock sale that we might go to, assuming the roads are OK.  Also Costco/errands, and I need to study.  The side table we commissioned last weekend is ready for pick-up, so we'll try to get out there tomorrow.  The shop is about 15 miles out of town.

Sunday: More studying, and H may need to go in to the office for a couple hours.

I'll also make time to practice and exercise this weekend.

  • This weekend could actually be busy. Tonight my parents fly in. They are spending the weekend at my sisters but will be around a bit and then move to our house Sunday night. They are staying until a week after baby gets here.
Today we are finishing moving the toys to the upstairs play area so we can reclaim our living room. Dh also needs to do some painting in the laundry room so we are ready for the cabinet install.
Saturday dh and my dad will hopefully install cabinets in my laundry room. I'm so excited about this. We got an amazing deal at the restore store in downtown Houston. They carry brand new cabinets that are wood, and were actually cheaper than the box stores. Plus the $ went to a good cause!
Sunday I have no idea what is going on. Finishing cabinets of they didn't get them done Saturday.

  • Today - taking DD to dance class, getting hair cuts, and stopping by a consignment store to look for some new yoga tanks.  Staying in tonight.

Saturday - Nothing really planned.  We have some things around the house to catch up on and I need to finish the declutter and organize part of my deep clean schedule this month.

Sunday - yoga in the morning and not sure about the afternoon

We aren't impacted by the storm - it passed thru us yesterday but left less than an inch. We have been getting these small storms.  Waiting for a big one.  Yep I love crazy weather.

  • Won't be impacted by the storm. We have a cooking class tonight to learn how to make different types of popular sauces. Then we're eating out over the weekend to use up gift cards we have before hubby's gastric bypass surgery.
  • It doesn't look like we'll be getting any snow, thank goodness!

Friday - Pizza night and DH has a game night with his friends (like fantasy strategy type games) so I should have a quiet-ish evening to hopefully finish my book

Saturday - Kindergarten registration then going with DH to hopefully pick up a couch we found on craigslist.  Our current couch is in terrible condition, we bought it 18 months +/- ago but it was a clearance couch from Wal Mart so not surprisingly it is falling apart.  I really hope it works out.

Sunday - Church and I think a visit with my MIL

I need to get to the grocery store at some point, not sure when!

I made that same mistake :(.  I bought a cheap couch two years ago from Big Lots.  We absolutely hate it.  I don't even know what I was thinking.  It's not that comfortable.  It's a little ugly (though not hideous).  And looked "worn and used" within just a few months of our having it.  I wish I had just spent a few hundred more dollars and bought something I really liked.  It would have come out cheaper anyway because a better couch would last longer!

Fri: pizza/movie night with H and the kids.

Sat: errands, girls day with some of my girlfriends - lunch and painting! Not sure what the rest of the day will be.

Sun: our niece's birthday party and ???

Edit: for once the snow storm isn't headed in my direction!

  • Friday--I actually left work early because I feel like I'm coming down with a cold.  I'm going to try to head it off by resting all day.

Saturday--No plans; if I'm feeling sick I'll just be lazy all day probably.  I have a bunch of stuff that we are getting rid of during our de-cluttering challenge to take to my mom's house and to donate.  H is going somewhere bird hunting.

Sunday--Regular chores such as laundry, buy groceries, etc.  College classes start on Monday so I'll enjoy my last homework free weekend.

In an unusual twist of fate, not impacted by the current storm.  In fact, I just looked at our 5-day forecast and it is supposed to be clear and unseasonably warm--like high 30's/low 40's.  If it makes you feel any better, there's still plenty of snow on the ground from the last couple of storms we got.

  • No snow at all here, supposed to be in the 50s this weekend I think.

Tonight - hockey.  H won tickets on Twitter, so we sold our normal tickets for a bit of a profit, and will sit in the free ones.  Also part of the prize was a ride on the zamboni between 2nd and 3rd periods, so I am riding the zamboni LOL  I'm kind of weirded out by everyone looking at me, but it should be fun.

Saturday - Just the usual regular weekend stuff.  Last weekend was taken over by our injured dog, so nothing got done and the house is gross.  So lots of cleaning.  Also an oil change on my car, and I'm taking it to the car wash because it's filthy.  Our neighbor's daughter is also having a birthday party so we'll go over there at some point too.

Sunday - Sleeping in, and then Broncos game... we might be going to a friend's to watch.

Ugh, I know, totally learned our lesson! We also use our couch a ton, we were sleeping on it for the first few months when DD was born and the filling in the cushions is all broke down and the springs are super pokey. My DH cares nothing about decor and even he is embarrassed by it lol. For now we're buying used but someday definitely looking for something better quality!
  • Been home all day.  Ventured out in the afternoon to clear the walkway while DH used the snow blower on the driveway.  Hopefully the rest of the cleanup tomorrow will be a little easier.  We got just under 30".

We are in Colorado and the weather is actually surprisingly nice here!

Went to a baby shower today and did homework. Then hung out at home and watched TV.

Tomorrow = more homework and hopefully exercising. Other than that, I bought a new phone (yay! cheap $40 go-phone since my iphone 4s finally crapped out on me) and we are chilling at home.
