We did it! We saved up 6 months of expenses in our emergency savings account. It took us about 16 months to do it, but that goal is now checked off. I am super excited and wanted to share. I told DH and he was not nearly as enthusiastic as me (he sees it as a necessity, but not an exciting thing).

Now, we will focus more knocking out our remaining student loan debt, cash flowing my grad degree and working on a baby fund for next year.

Any one else with recent MM goals achieved?

  • Yay!  That's awesome!
  • very nice!  We need to beef our e fund back up about another $800 to get back to our original goal. It seems the e fund is always an ongoing process but at least we have the money saved right?

savings, retirement, and hardwood floors savings are our 3 focuses this year.

  • vlagrl29: Yes, having any kind of an e-fund is a great thing!

This is the first time we have had a full six months for our e-fund. It's relieving to know that if something should happen, we have a cushion to fall back on for a short period. Especially because we both work at the same organization. It's fairly stable, but you never know.

  • That's great! We're also working on building our e-fund back up because we had to drain it a bit while I was on unemployment. I'm about to make the last payment on my credit card (paid off a month before the 0% interest expires), so once that's done we'll be able to build it up faster.
  • Congratulations!!

Great job on paying it off before the 0% interest promo expires. I have one travel card we used to pay for Europe that has about $1,000 left on it and expires in 6 months. I plan to pay it off in the next two months.
