Re: TTC/3T Check-In

  • I hope there are still GPer's around! :)

Where are you at in your TTC journey? 4 yrs 8 mo

Any testing coming up? FDA labs for me and H. H had his SA yesterday, so waiting on those results now. Donor goes in for baseline in less than a week (11/16) and then starts stims!

Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..) As of right now, ER is planned for 11/30-12/4 (if everything is exactly same as her last cycle, it would be 12/2). Then, the waiting game to see what makes it to blasts for freezing (last couple got 16!). For me, I will start BC with my next cycle, and get ready for my first ever FET. BTW, I can't believe how much cheaper meds are using someone who's ovaries are almost 15 years younger! I was typically spending $4500-5000 (to get, in the end, one embryo); this time around just over $2000!

FFC/AW of the Week (no rules): I don't like to get into politics here, but I cried when I woke up yesterday morning and realized that our election results were real.

  • @FutureMrsWright2012 - yay!  When will FET be?  December?  Will you do PGD with the embryos?  How many will you transfer?  I'm so excited for you!

  • We had our homestudy this past weekend and it went really well!  We're still working on taking some online classes, but when those are done, we will officially pass the homestudy.  We're working on our Dear Birth Mother letter as well.  I'm done with 90% of it, but H still has to write his part and he is slacking a little bit.  I think this part is a lot harder for him.  Anyway, whatever, it's all moving along and I'm getting really excited and hopeful.  We still haven't told H's parents, but I'm hoping we will have gotten enough done by Thanksgiving that we feel comfortable telling them.  At the same time, sometimes adoptions fail, and our families have gone through a lot of loss too.  Part of me wants to protect them and not tell them until we have a baby in our arms... but I also want them to mentally prepare since this is probably unexpected.  They don't know about all of our fertility issues (we kept that really quiet), so the fact that we have a 1.5 year old makes it a little hard for people to understand.  They don't know that he was one of 5 IVF attempts... 4 failed.

With the election over, I'm just trying to concentrate on the upcoming holidays and the adoption stuff.  Those are happier things to think about.

  • I had my first beta for IVF this morning and of course the automated online results came before my doctor has called and I'm freaking out. Anyone care to help me interpret?

I had a 5 day transfer on 10/29 and the level today was 394. Is that good?! Is it impossible to tell until we have a second one to compare it to?! I can't handle this......
  • @LillibetteV - I would feel pretty confident with 394, but the most important thing is that it rises appropriately.  My first at 10dp5dt with my son was 92.  But honestly, yeah, I'd be stoked with that number.  :)

Did you transfer one or two?

  • @ilovewhitevinotoo we transferred one. My clinic will not transfer two in a first time IVF patient under 35 like myself. Which was fine by me because this womb is one customer at a time please!
  • @LillibetteV GL!  I know nothing about numbers.  Just wanted to pop in and let you guys know I'm taking a break from everything charting and temping related this month and I'm feeling just so much better already.  DH and I decided to do the blood draws with my chrio in December not Nov.  I just don't want to right now.  We are still TTC and we had sex last night and it was actually good and not stressful for me.  I think this is the path I want to take and not stress out until if/when we hit the 1 year mark.
  • @vlagrl35 I think that's the best thing you can do. I never charted/temped and just had a lot of sex and monitored my CM. Eventually TTC becomes a chore and that's no good. Being told we would not get pregnant without IVF was actually really good for our sex life because we could just enjoy each other again without the stress.

eeek! Nurse just called and said that my number was great! She said they want to see at least 100 so we're off to a good start and want to see a doubling by Saturday.
  • @LillibetteV Yea!  That's great news.  My OB actually told me spotting up to 5 days prior to AF is normal so I'm not worried about that anymore.  My body was pregnant once and will do it again.
  • I'm just here, stalking everyone while I wait to make sure it sticks. :) So many fingers and toes crossed for everyone!!!

I have no idea about Seahorse, but I don't know who she is IRL so I can't FB stalk.  :)  I know that Panda's adoption journey stopped, but that was over a year ago and I'm not sure if it ever picked up again.  Poppies adopted an incredibly cute little baby, and surprise! she is pregnant and expecting another baby soon!

So fast for the FET!  I mean, I know it is normal timing, but with the holidays and everything, it'll FLY BY!

I am so excited for you!

Our references were contacted today, which is so nerve racking.  I mean we obviously put them because they're are closest friends/family, but still.  It's scary to put something so big in someone else's hands.  :)

  • Where are you at in your TTC journey? Cycle 2, CD5 waiting for AF to make up her mind. She went away and then came back. While this is our second cycle, we will be actively TTC this time around. Last cycle, we accidentally hit the fertile window (did not know it until I got a positive OPK). But now I am temping/charting and using OPKs. Hoping for good luck early on!

Any testing coming up? No, not until the first week of December

Well, this week was not a great week for America or my faith in humanity. I honestly had to think whether or not I would want to bring a child into the world we are living in right now. DH and I are both minorities and the idea of bringing a minority child into this world, into America right now is slightly terrifying. I want to believe in humanity and the good that exists in the world, but seeing how much hate their is, is really difficult.

It's been a while. Hi everyone!

@ilovewhitevinotoo I am so excited for you! It sounds like you're already making a lot of progress. I'm looking forward to following your adoption journey here (and on FB once you're ready).

@FutureMrsWright2012 fx for your upcoming FET. I know it's been a long road for you and I hope you will be holding your precious baby (or babies!) soon.

Not much to update with us. I got an IUD a couple months ago. We are happily one and done. (BR) our little boy is turning one this week! I can't believe how fast the past year has gone by.
