  • Happy belated Thanksgiving as well!  I had a great weekend.  Then again, any 4-day weekend is invariably going to be a great one.  Relaxed a lot.  My H cooked an amazing T-day dinner and now there are lots of leftovers.  FYI, turkey sandwiches with mayo are great.  But they are even better with guacamole or avocados ;).

Took advantage of Black Friday to buy all the appliances and ac/heat window units for my new duplex!  Woo hoo!  Major checklist item done.  Though I won't be feeling so "woo hoo", when those credit card bills start rolling in, lol.

  • @short+sassy Eek! I hope you got some good deals on everything though! Your post about leftovers reminded me. We made an INCREDIBLE recipe with turkey leftovers and I think it would translate well to using chicken stock and shredded chicken when the turkey is all gone. I followed the instructions up through Step 2 (cook the celery and onion with the spices) and then just dumped it all in a crock pot with the remaining ingredients and cooked it on low all day.

@labro, that's how I feel after this weekend.  I like my family OK but 5 adults in our house is a bit of a crunch.

I did my annual JC Penney Black Friday shopping, on Friday afternoon.  I got 2 sweaters, 2 shirts, a pair of jeans, a necklace and a watch for $106.
  • @julieanne912 Lol! Yeah, we only had 2 extra so it went ok since we have a guest bedroom and an extra bath. But an extra (large) dog in the house meant that it was TRASHED by the end of the week. I swept, mopped, and vacuumed on Sunday and I still need to clean our microfiber couch to get rid of all the slobber marks from him. That's an awesome deal at JCP!

if you have lots of fur/dog hair take a damp rubber dish glove and rub it over the fabric that the hair sticking too - it will pull it up in big clumps and make vacuuming a LOT easier.

Yup this is how I clean my couches... works way better than vacuuming or anything else I've tried.

Yes!  I got 2 $9 sweaters from JCP.  I already own a couple like them, but different colors and wear them all the time.  I was very excited to see them only $9.  A $15 cardigan that also goes with a lot of my clothes.  And $15 shoes at Amazon, they were having a 30% off sale for many shoes.  I'd feel guilty about that last one, but they will be replacing a pair I wear all the time and are falling apart.

Oh man that would be awesome if we had hair on the couches! You'll laugh, every time we left the house we covered the couches in newspaper to discourage the dogs from jumping up. Seems to have worked, we only had a few hairs on the couch. His problem is slobber that he wiped EVERYWHERE! Luckily we still have those free containers of furniture cleaner that DH got from years ago when he bought the set and that stuff will clean up the dried drool no problem.

Hopefully this picture shows up.  It's how DD told our families we're expecting
Mind the blurriness.  Getting a still image with a toddler is impossible.

This is exactly what I want to do with DD to tell our parents.  I can't wait until we can do this.  I wonder how long it will take MIL to figure it out.  I kinda like the idea - so many things just patiently waiting.

@LillibetteV and  @brij2006 that's so awesome!  I'm sure your families are over the moon about it.  I'm hoping for an xmas miracle.  The cool thing is we have holidays pretty much every month now thru May  with the exception of Jan. so hopefully I can utilize one of those soon.
