Monday Accountability

1. How MM was your weekend?

2. Any progress towards goals?

3. When/what month is your birthday? Do your qualities match your zodiac sign? (Libra, Capricorn etc)

Re: Monday Accountability

  • 1. $25 Gas, $17 Gas, $47 BJ's, $4 Ocean state

    2. $580 to vacation- we are almost done saving!

    3. September- Virgo. Some of the traits are: Perfectionist, meticulous, reliable, shy, fussy, worrier, overcritical, harsh, generous, caring, and has a good work ethic.

Yes, this is all pretty much me in a nutshell!

  • 1. $314 stock up trip to Costco, $130 tax prep, $28 gas, $55 household goods/toiletries run.

    2. We paid off H's truck last week! Also $250 to the house account and $100 to the cash stash.

    3. November, Scorpio. I identify with about half of the Scorpio traits.
  • 1. $20 for dinner food on Thursday.  $17 for a few things from Target.  $40 on airport parking when I get home tonight and $100 when I see the dog sitter.

    2. Our regular spending is down this month so we should be on track to increase savings.

    3. Taurus.  I don't remember characteristics off hand but last I checked it was a pretty good description of what I am like.
  • 1. Some heater work that we thought was covered by warrantee turned out not to be, so after H negotiated a bit we're down $309 for that. Otherwise $45 on groceries and who knows what H spent on beer last night!

    2. Nope. On pause.

    3. In a Sagittarius, and they're supposed to be busy, social, and have a hard time settling down. The first two apply to me, but I love being a settled, married homeowner.
  • 1) Ours wasn't bad - spent about $80 on groceries and $20 on gas.  We also bought two rugs to finish off the basement project, but that was planned and came from our savings.  Otherwise, we attended a charity fundraiser on Saturday and donated a few hundred while we were there.

    2) I don't really have any pressing goals at the moment that are out of the ordinary.

    3) My birthday is on a cusp, so I'm supposed to exhibit traits from both Libra and Scorpio.  I identify more strongly with Libra.  Libras like art and harmony and hate conflict.  They have a hard time saying no to people (this is me to a T), so they sometimes bite off more than they can chew and get stressed out.  Scorpios are more intense, driven, and ambitious.  I identify with that to some degree, but I'm not ambitious at the detriment of my own happiness.  I would rather quit and be happy than win and be miserable.  Scorpios also love security, and I do identify very strongly with that trait.

  • 1. Could've been better. $80 on groceries (beer and wine took up $40 of that), $80 at Jo-Ann's after my sewing class on fabric and patterns, DH spent $200 between the shooting range and a sports store on stuff for his guns. BUT we won $100 last night soo....I guess that makes up for it a tiny bit.

    2. Nope.

    3. July Leo - I definitely identify with many of the Leo strengths - creativity, passion/warm-heartedness, generosity, etc. But I don't see many of the typical Leo weaknesses. I tend to be more flexible, and I'm definitely driven, not lazy. I'd say my biggest flaw is my temper. I can go from 0 to a 10 incredibly fast.

  • 1 - not bad at all.  we got take out chinese friday night and went to the grocery store to get grillers for sunday.  DH got gas in his car and we got a few small items at the new Menards that just opened up in our area.

2 - Not really.  I was wanting to finish my website last week but it didn't happen.  Hoping to get it done this week.

3 - I'm a Gemini.  Not sure all their traits but I know they are social and have 2 sides which I am both.  The public sees me one way and only my very close friends know the other.  I use to get kinda crazy back in my 20s.

  • 1) $169.35 on groceries and $53.28 on a new blower motor for my car. $2.13 for a drink at Blaze pizza where we used our coupons for two free pizzas. Groceries was higher this week because we stocked up on some household goods like toilet paper and because we aren't shopping this coming weekend. We also only really grocery shopped once last month. H replaced my blower motor himself, which made that a good deal.

    2) Not a pay week.

    3) I am on the cusp between Sagittarius and Capricorn, which means I am optimistic, friendly, reliable and practical. Cons are being moody and impatient. That is pretty close to me. I lean more towards the practical Capricorn side than the fearless free-wheeling Sagittarius side.
  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Not bad. $15 a chick fil a and $5 at dunkin donuts.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Paid $3625 toward my student loans, almost done with those!

    3. When/what month is your birthday? Do your qualities match your zodiac sign? (Libra, Capricorn etc)

August, so Leo. I had to google the traits of a leo, and I'd say I don't identify with them much. It said they're creative, natural born leaders, and like to be in the lime light, which is the exact opposite of me. I don't have a creative bone in my body haha, hate attention, and I'd rather just go with the flow and be told what to do.

    1. How MM was your weekend? It was good! $8 beer at hockey game for H, $30 for my dad's birthday gift, $20 to church, $5 50/50 raffle tickets, $17 for chili ingredients (ground chuck value packs were on sale, so have 1.5lbs left to use in another meal this week).

    2. Any progress towards goals? We're closer to having a decision on life insurance, which is great. But I reviewed our baby budget yesterday (sample budget if I SAH) and it's not looking positive for SAH (disclaimer - we're not expecting yet; I'm a planner). But I need to come to terms with the fact that I will at least need to work part time when the time does come, and it made us very aware that there are some expenses we need to work on decreasing. Such as our mortgage/PMI. I even brought up that maybe we should halt TTC until some major things are taken care of, like the car loan, but H wasn't onboard. The last few years we have become very accustomed to living the DINKS lifestyle and I think I'm freaking out over the lifestyle change. Sorry that this turned into a long rant.

    3. When/what month is your birthday? Do your qualities match your zodiac sign? (Libra, Capricorn etc) I'm Gemini, and google says that 'Expressive and quick-witted, Gemini represents two different sides of personality and you will never be sure with whom you will face. Gemini can be sociable, communicative and ready for fun, while on the other hand it can be very serious, thoughtful, restless and even indecisive.' This is pretty accurate. I can be very 'on' and sociable, but can switch to 'off' and introverted/serious at the snap of a finger. I'm more on the serious side the majority of the time.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? It was pretty good- groceries ($163), birthday present ($25), socks for DD#2 (6 pairs for $4)

    2. Any progress towards goals? 401K % increase to hit the max this year, working on DH's 403b provider now.. need to move his current balance and then start increasing his % to get to max in 3 years. Only 4 more day care payments for DD#2 and we are done!

    3. When/what month is your birthday? Do your qualities match your zodiac sign? (Libra, Capricorn etc) I am technically a Leo, but was born 4 weeks early, so I am a Virgo through and through. Pretty much everything about a Virgo lines up with me. Leo, not so much, aside from my extreme loyalty (which can actually be quite detrimental at times).

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

    • Pretty good overall. Didn't really go anywhere, so didn't spend a lot of money.
    • Grocery shopping = $50
    • DH's brother wanted to try his new sous vide machine, so we spent $30 on steaks, asparagus and ingredients for bernaise sauce...it was amazing!

    2. Any progress towards goals?

    • We filed our tax return and got a refund!

    3. When/what month is your birthday? Do your qualities match your zodiac sign? (Libra, Capricorn etc)

July is my birthday month and I am a Cancer. I have not idea what qualities Cancer typically has, so cannot comment.

  • 1.  On Friday, spent $16 at Save-A-Lot, which included 57 cent avocados, I was excited about that deal for my SB guac.  On Saturday, $55 for breakfast, but $45 will be reimbursed for my mystery shop.  Then spent $248 at Costco.  Ugh.  That was not expected.  I ran in for frozen breakfast sandwiches and a small sandwich tray for the SB.  That's it, lol.  But half of that was light fixtures at the new duplex that we were planning to buy elsewhere, but they were cheaper at Costco.

    2.  Knocked my business CC debt down by $600.  And my personal CC debt down by $1700.  Also restocked my e-fund from $300 to $1300, though I'm probably going to steal $300 of that to pay down my HELOC.  All my tenants, except one, pay rent on the 1st.  It's a good day!  I can do a lot of damage to my debt.

    3.  I'm a Scorpio.  I've never identified with that sign.  I admittedly don't know all the characteristics, but what I remember is they are supposed to be sultry, mysterious, and moody.  I'm more "girl next door" cute, open, and sunny.  Pretty much the opposite, lol.  I'm a few days from Sagitarious (sp?) but, from what I've read, I'm far enough away that I'm not considered "cusp".

  • 1.  It was fine.  About $100 for groceries on Saturday, and then another $50 going out for dinner and drinks on Saturday night.

    2.  Nothing new this week.

    3.  I am a Capricorn.  Pretty much all standard Capricorn characteristics apply to me, LOL!  Responsible, stubborn, disciplined and unforgiving...all me.
  • 1. We had our annual VT vacation with our closest friends and it was awesome. One of the girls won a ski house for a long weekend so our lodging was free! 1 tank of gas ($25ish) and about $200 on food and beer were the main expenses. However, we have SO many leftovers I won't do a regular grocery shop this week and still need to put some stuff in the freezer so we probably could have packed half of the food we brought and still had too much. We don't ski so we had an aunty/uncle babysitting day while the parents went to the mountain; the rest of the time we played games and just played in the snow in the yard or just sat around having long talks. We spent $20 on superbowl squares and won exactly that amount back lol. We were a house full of Pats fans so the game was a nice end to our weekend :-)  This annual vacation truly feeds my soul and just being with that group for 5 days makes me feel super recharged  (and as an introvert I usually need alone time to feel refreshed).

    2. Just plugging along. Hopefully this week we will have the electrician out to replace our panel and that will be one pre-baby project completed. Before we left for vacation we toured a daycare we LOVED and are now on the waiting list for next January.

    3. March so I'm an Aries. I identify with most traits for my sign. I'm definitely stubborn that's for sure!
  • 1.  Meh.  Freezer clean out meal on Friday, then spent $50 eating out on Saturday.  :(  Didn't need to grocery shop, but did spend $24 at the hardware store.

    2.  H received his last full paycheck which we used to pay off my car.  Glad to be going into this new adventure as entrepreneurs with no debt except a mortgage and a fully funded e-fund.

    3.  I'm a Capricorn, but don't follow/believe in astrology.
