Looking at missaloha and her beautiful little one made me feel so old.....goodness she looks young (and awesome having just delivered a child!). It got me to wondering about what is the average age on this board.
I am proud that most never guess my age at 36, and no one ever guesses my husband's age correctly (he's 47). I wonder some days how I got to be so much closer to 40 than 30......but still feel at least 26!
To indulge my curiosity, do you mind sharing how old you are?
Re: Old?
I'm 30 (31 next month) and MH is 31 (32 in Nov). :-)
Amy! You don't look 36!
Amy! Don't be silly. You are not old! I am 30.
(a side note: my mom had me at 46 and my siblings are 14, 16 and 19 years older than me, so I feel REALLY young all of the time. I almost like feeling old.
)
also, just to add, one of my best friends is 36 and she just got married so you are way ahead of many.
not that getting married is the be-all end-all of a happy life or anything, but you know what i mean.
S'ok Amy, we can be nursing home buddies. I turned 35 on Aug 13.
Now, let's line our wheelchairs up and I'll race ya to the end of the hall! Bonus points if ya run over a nurse!
I am 31 and my husband is 35.
You are not old!
You and your hubby look great! 36 isn't old at all...I would have guessed you were younger. I'm 27 and MH is almost 29.
Old? Why yes, I am!
I think I'm the oldest. I turned 41 in July (rubs eyes... doesn't seem right). I usually don't think I look old... but, then, I see everyone else's pictures and see how beautiful you look. I can't put my finger on it, but I don't look like that any more.
I looked in my 20s from my teens through my 30s. It was odd... people always guessed my age to be 24. Now, no one guesses my age. I think that means I look really old.
I wish the nest had a board for people over 35... we could all b!tch about not being 21.
Newlyweds since 2007
Hey, last week I ran over a chicken, so nurses beware!
I don't FEEL old, it's just funny to me that I now know how much fun my mom was having at my age since I am now that age. It's just kind of weird....and I thought she was ancient! And to see people having kids that look SO darned young (kudos to them!) and to know that if you were born in 1988 you can legally drink boggles my mind....I was in high school in 1988!
I guess I'm having an I-can't-possibly-be-middle-aged moment! LOL! How does it creep up on you like this?
I am 28 and MH is 32.
Amy, Todd does NOT look 47, are you kidding me?
But as everyone says, age is just a number
I love Hawaii!

I am 39 and DH is 42. I will admit I really do not feel my age at all! Once I turned 30, it just stayed at that number :P]
As Tara mentioned, it is a number, and when it comes down to it, it is really about how you feel
I am young at 32, and husband is months away from 30. Party time!!
I still get carded EVERY time I buy a drink so I guess that's encouraging.
I am 32, and MH turns 38 in two weeks.
It does amaze me that my mother had 3 kids and was divorced/dating her second husband at my age!

MH and I are both 33. I find that my perspective on "old" changes, of course, as I get older. When I hear about other 30-somethings achieving impressive things (e.g. running a major company, coaching a football team, etc.) I think, "how amazing that someone so young can achieve that!"
And then of course I remember back in the day when I thought that the television show "30-something" was a show about old people.
I thought everyone on this board were little pip-squeeks and I was the oldest!
I will be turning 30 in April and MH will be turning 35 in December. It's so wierd to see that number, but I don't feel like I'm turning 30. But even so, 30's aren't even old!
30's are the new 20's and you actually have things figured out so it's the best of both worlds!

I'm 27, so is MH. I was on my college campus over the weekend and all the sorority girls were moving into their new houses on bid day - I totally remember that, but they looked so YOUNG. In a way I can't believe it has been 9 years, but I have also done sooooooo much since then (2 degrees, "real" job, travel, marriage, baby on the way) that is feels like a lifetime ago.
I turned 33 last month. DH is turning 37 next month. I don't feel really feel "old" but it made me realize I am when my little cousin, who I babysat when she was baby, is now in freshman college!! Where did the time go?!
I'm turning 30 next month - WOOO HOOOO! I love my birthday!
Russ will be 32 in January.
When I turned 29 I felt old, but 30 seems so fantastic. 30 is the new 20 for sure. I wouldn't go back to being 20 for anything!

I'm 27 and hubby is 29.
30 IS the NEW 20!! I remember thinking that it would take FOREVER to be in your 30s, but now that its closer, it just seems sooo young!
Age is nothing but a number!! That's for sure
