Eek! I think I skipped last week! OY! I am sorry...this isn't turning out to be a weekly check-in with me in charge of it! Anyone with more time and/or a better memory willing to it take over?
Also, what do you think about adding TTCers to the check-in as well (I think we have a handful of TTCing nesties) as well as keeping our Pregnant Hawaii Nesties list encorporated here too?

Re: ?Mamas & Mamas to Be: Weekly Check-in?
(1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Feeling crappy the last few days - I think I have a sinus infection. My face feels like it's going to explode. Boo. I now have a light linea negra that showed up about 2 weeks ago (I missed the last check in). That's about it.
(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
Next appointment is Nov 9th, I think. I'll be having my glucose tolerance test then.
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not?
I'm still on the fence, kinda, but leaning towards getting it since my doctor recommends it. I'll only get them if I can get the preservative free ones.
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item?
I'm having issues finding maternity jeans so I don't really have a favorite. I'm mostly wearing my regular jeans still with the BeBand, because all the jeans and pants I bought are loose in the thighs and I hate that. I like my jeans really slim fitting in the thighs. The one pair I have tried on that I love (Joe's) are over $200 and I don't think B would be very happy if I bought them!
(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)?
Hmm...I'm not sure yet! Carseat, I guess.
(6) If you're blogging your experience as a mama or mama-to-be, post the link here.
I think most of you know.

This was yesterday, 22w4d:
I like the list is added - lots of other boards do that. I have also seen TTC added too and some of them actually list questions for them to answer (with the PG ladies answering if applicable too) - not sure if we have enough ppl for that to work out, but it's a nice place to consolidate questions about temping, prenatals, TTC tips, etc.
BUT, please don't feel like you have to do that - it might be overwhelming. Speaking of that, I usually have time midweek and could do the check-in if you want...
Maybe it would be fun to trade off month to month and let lots of women post the Qs? That might get kind of confusing though...
(1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? I have been feeling kicks/movement for quite a while, but over the weekend MH was able to feel it for the first time w/out me having to saying that was one - did you feel it?! He was pretty excited.
(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? hmmm, next appt. is the 29th I think. Nothing exciting happening. My one and only ultrasound looked good, so I will not get another one unless something medically unexpected comes up.
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not?
nope. never had one, don't want one now - don't work in a germy environment. The Dr. Sears article about the H1N1 vaccine was pretty good though - really just said the vaccine was the same as a flu one it would probably be ok to get as long as you were able to get one w/out the thermisol/mercury additive.
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item?
I really like the gap's full panel jeans and pants. I have a low panel and a roll panel from them too and don't like them. The low panel makes me look fat rather than baby-bump-ish and the roll panel is just not comfortable for me - I'm not sure what I'm suppose to do with the "roll" part and for whatever reason those are the only ones that give me a "saggy butt" look.
(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)?
not sure right now. But I was pretty excited to see this new ergo design at a store in Seattle:
(6) If you're blogging your experience as a mama or mama-to-be, post the link here.
none.

i'm horrible with pictures lately, so I don't have any bump pics.
1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Feeling great. Getiing loads more sleep. Matty only wakes up once during the night for a bottle and goes right back to sleep. We actually get about 7 hours. Yay!Oh and I consider it a milestone that my 15 year old neice called me skinny at Disneyland last week! Not true but I'll take it
(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
Just had his 2 month appt and shots. He did awesome, I did just ok. Stayed in the room so that says something. He weighs 12.1lbs and is 24 1/2 inches. No adverse reactions or even fever from his shots. Again...Yay!
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not?
Actually the whole fam is getting flu shots tomorrow since he is too young. Wanna make sure he and his sissies stay as healthy as possible. might get the H1N1 if it ever gets here. Not sure yet.
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item?
My pre-all 3 baby jeans!!! Woot Woot!
(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)?
I couldn't live w/o the Boppy! Never had one with the girls and now I'm kicking myself. He practically lives on that thing. Where he takes almost all his naps(supervised of course). The sling is a close second. Again didn't have this with the girls either. What was I thinking???!

1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
J can feel the baby kick now (sometimes) and so can the pugs! Luigi like to rest his head on my belly, but when the baby starts moving he gets the funniest look on his face like, "WTF?"
I have been fighting a chest cold since last Thursday and it's not fun. Finally broke down and got some Robitussin DM (it's on my doc's safe list) and that helped me sleep last night without hacking. I am worried though because I am off to Nashville for 10 days on Thursday and will have a fairly rigorous schedule (10-12 hour days...lighter than the 16 hour days many of my colleagues will have, but still rigorous considering I am 6 months pregnant). I hope this clears up soon!
(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
My next appt. is after I get back from Nashville. The 27th or 28th, I think. I am expecting to be scheduled for the GD test soon. I pray that I pass with flying colors.
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not?
I got the regular flu shot at my last appt. at 21 weeks. My doc recommended I do it, especially since I will be exposed to thousands of international travelers next week at our convention. It was no big deal...I had a sore arm where the injection went for about a day and a stiff neck the next day too (not sure if it was related or not). I won't be getting the H1N1 shot though.
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item?
Right now I am loving leggings with boots and tunic tops (which is ironic, because pre-preg I couldn't stand those blousy tunic tops)! So comfy on the weekends and casual work days.
(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)?
For us, I really wanted an Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper and am thankful we found one gently used for less than half the cost of buying a brand new one. We bought a new liner for it and it's like brand-new!

You're freakin' adorable!
*swoon* Jaime...Matty is so gorgeous! And congrats to you for 1) getting sleep and 2) fitting into your pre-pre-pre baby jeans! WOOT! That's awesome! When I get back from Nashville we SO need to GTG! I am serious! When is the last time we saw each other? April, I think! TOO long lady!
Oh, I'd be so happy if you could! At least next week and maybe the week after that. In Nov/Dec I will be less busy (I think) and could share the responsibility again, if you like.

@Sanae and other Mamas to be!
If you want to try finding designer maternity jeans for much cheaper, try www.authenticforum.com or www.honestforum.com
I have bought jeans from both these forums and have never had a bad experience. Users sell their used designer jeans, and list accurate measurements as well as any defects, rips, or alterations. This is great because I'm short, and most times I can find jeans that have already been altered to my inseam with the hems still on (I'm a 29 inseam).
I'm a jean snob, and know when it comes time to buy maternity jeans, I'll be scouting these sights. I highly recommend them to find jeans for more than half of the price they sell in store.
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not? I'll most likely get the flu shot because I work at the hospital and I don't want to get the flu especially with breastfeeding!! Our pediatrician said not to get the H1N1 at least not until after 'the first big wave of pp get it' so we can see more side effects or whatever, so we'll see.(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item? I love fitting into my jeans again, I so want my old body back!! Someday, I hope but until then at least the jeans fit. As for tops, I still can't find anything that fits the girls, they have taken over my top half!!(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)? The moby!! I love it!! So does Bella! I raked leaves with her in it the other day and she slept the entire time
(1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? I feel fine except that I hae developed rash/hives on my torso. Dermatologist says its nothing bad but its uncomfortable espcially at night. This may be TMI but my bowel movements hurt because the pre-natals make my poop hard. I eat prunes and drink metamucil daily but it only helps a little. I thankful that I don't have m/s though.
I bought my first pair of maternity pants. My stomach is definatly going to pop early as I'm unable to button most of my pants these days and have gained only 3 lbs.
(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? The practice I go to works inconjuction with a staff of midwives. I have an appointment with her next week to review all the b/w I took last week. I also have my First Tri screening in two weeks. That's when they do the extensive ultrasound with all the measurements.
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not? Both for sure. My OB recommends it.
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item? New pair of black cords that I can wear dressed up or down. Those materinity pants are so comfortable.
(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)?Haven't decided on that one yet....too early for me,

(1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? nothing really new... still moving around a lot, some uncomfortable back pain here and there.
(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? my 36 wk appt is on Thurs - not looking forward to the internal... it's been so nice to go to the obgyn office and not have to get undressed!
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not? both - I always get the regular one, and since it's recommended, I'll get h1n1 as well.
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item? I have a Phillies shirt that says future fan on the belly
that and my yoga pants
(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)? I'm guessing the crib mattress (which should be delivered today)

@Kristin - I'm a total jeans snob, too! Thanks for the rec. I'm gonna go check them out now. I have a 28-29 inseam, too. Wish me luck!
Yea this is my first time to get to post!!! whoo hoo
1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? still good...only some twinges every now and then which I am guessing is round ligament or my uterus streatching...I think my sense of smell has really kicked in.
(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? go back tomorrow for b/w again to make sure all my levels are where they are supposed to be...keep fingers crossed that my progesterone is high enough so I can stop these stupid shots I have been on of the last 18 days...my poor butt hurts and looks awful
10/21 is my 1st u/s
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not? probably since I have kids in school I don't want anything they bring home
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item? nothing yet but I am so bloated that my normal jeans are uncomfortable
(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)? 1st I need to find out how many we are going to have and I need to get that baby bargins book

(1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
I'm feeling fantastic! We had an ultrasound on Friday. Everything with me and baby is perfect. My previa has completely moved up and the babe has moved from a breech position. Russ feels him or her move all the time now. The baby is the most active in the morning, so we've been getting up later to spend more time snuggling and feeling the kicks and rolls.
(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
I have midwife appointments every two weeks now. So I'm meeting with her this Wednesday. I think it will just be a regular apt.
My family got me maternity photos for my birthday so I'm going to be scheduling those in the next few weeks! VERY excited about that!
I have three weeks of work left. I've moved to part time, and then November 1 I'm done until Jan 2011! WAHOOOOO!!
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not?
I'll be getting the regular flu shot, but I need to do a bit more research on H1N1.
Russ is really sick right now so I'm drinking tons of water and ensuring I eat healthy and get lots of sleep.
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item?
I love all my maternity clothes! I had to get a few more clothes recently because my tummy has gotten alot bigger.
(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)?
I really want a sling.

(1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Pretty good. My diet is back to normal (no gross junk food cravings anymore), but I'm still sleeping 9-10 hours a night. And it's fun tracking my growing uterus every day... can't stop poking my belly and feeling it ever since my doctor pointed it out to me!
(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
We have our big ultrasound in about 2 weeks. Praying for a healthy little one!
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not?
My doctor recommends both. I'm def getting the flu shot, but like Christine, would be more inclined to get the H1N1 shot if I could get it in a preservative free version. Are those available?
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item?
I love my belly band. And makeup... to cover up the lovely zits that have appeared ever since I've switched from sleeping on my back to sleeping on my side!
(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)?
Not sure at this point. I haven't bought anything for baby yet.

I don't think I'm showing enough yet... maybe next time!
check out this article, it includes the brands and ingredients of the vaccines currently approved by the FDA. I think it was posted by another nestie last week but prior to that it was making the rounds over on the mothering.com discussion boards. The post/article (Four Swine Flu Vaccines Approved by FDA)should be the first one on this page:
http://www.askdrsears.com/thevaccinebook/
I think the article ends with some advice that basically says that while the safety hasn't been tested the FDA is saying they will be ok because they are so similar to the regular flu vaccines.
It's definitely something to research and think about...
Have you been checked for PUPPS? Some ladies get that in pregnancy.
As for the other issue...I highly recommend Colace. I take it at night with my PNV. It has worked wonders! Even when I am traveling, it works...which is so important, if you know what I mean. I also eat a lot of fresh fruits/veggies, whole grains and eat prunes with plain yogurt but nothing did the trick like Colace. Be sure just to get the one with softener, not the one with a laxitive too.

Thank you!!! We should keep each other posted on what we end up doing... last I checked, my doc said the injectables weren't even available locally yet. So I think I have some time to figure it out!

(1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
In a word? Exhausted.
Milestones...well, I know it's early, but I think this might not be bloat - I might actually be showing. At 11 weeks. Freakish, I know. I was also weirded out by the fact that I'm losing my innie bellybutton. I was running my hands over my belly last night and suddenly stopped when I realized that my belly button is only like half the depth it used to be. It's still an innie, but it's a LOT shallower. I was so weirded out that I even asked Ben his opinion, and he said it's definitely flattening out. So bizarre to feel, especially since I didn't expect this so early!
(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
Let's see...next ultrasound is a week from now (NT scan) and next appointment is 2 weeks after that.
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not?
Nope. It's not flu season here, and my doc hasn't recommended that I get either.
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item?
Lately I'm rocking my non-maternity super stretchy waistband yoga pants (there isn't a lot in the way of actual maternity gear here, so they're just regular pants, but whooo baby, do they ever feel good after a day in constricting pants!).
(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)?
The double stroller I want. I don't care that it's hundreds more than the cheaper models - it gets awesome parent reviews, is relatively lightweight, and can fit through a regular doorway, and considering how much I'm going to use it, I want something that I won't be swearing at every day.

Got nothin' sorry!
Schedule your pics asap!! I had mine scheduled for 35 weeks and 4 days and gave birth to Bella at 35 weeks and 2 days so I had to cancel them
Also I HIGHLY recommend a moby wrap!! We love ours! I ordered off amazon and got free shipping. I watched youtube and practiced with a teddy bear to figure it out
we want pics asap!!!
LOL honestly, there isn't much to see. I just look fat - and I'm not being modest.
But when I get new u/s pics next week, I'll post those!
(1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Feeling good! My little one has started rolling unassisted (the dr. says she has her weight working against her, hehe). She can tripod too... well, for a little while at least. And we can start feeding her rice cereal in a few days!!!!!
(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
I have an OB appt. coming up, not sure when. Buggy has a dr. appt. at 6 months...
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not?
Got the flu shot, but not the H1N1 vaccine. Didn't get either when I was PG.
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item?
I like the bouncer... it's the only thing that Brooke will stay in for more than 15 minutes (and we have a very expensive swing-- she doesn't buy that too much). I also LOVE mybrestfriend. It's much more comfortable for me than the boppy.

I am pretty uncomfortable at this point. the baby is pushing on my lungs making it hard to breath. I am totally waddling everywhere. Swollen hands, feet, and now my face is starting to get swollen too
I am sad we didn't get maternity pics done sooner b/c I look totally different in the face now
our last session got rescheduled due to rain/thunder here... I hope our next session doesn't get canceled (on the 19th). Also started getting mild heartburn in the last week (just when I lay down to sleep at night)
(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
next appointment is on Thurs - my first internal exam and I will also get checked for Strep B.... anxious to find out if I am dilated because the baby has dropped in the last week or so!!!
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not?
yes, I go the flu shot and will get the H1N1 vaccine when it becomes available. It was recommended to me by my perinatologist and DH works in a children's hospital where he is at very high risk of getting it from the patients and could thereby infect me and the baby (though he will get vaccinated as soon as it is available - tons of his coworkers have gotten sick so far). to us, the benefits outweigh any risks...
oh and I got the regular vaccine not the preservative free - the kind they use at my ob's office every year. they said it is not an issue and they use that kind every year and studies have proven that there is no link between the thimerasol and any adverse effects (including autism) at this point
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item?
my Liz Lange black maternity gauchos - so comfy and I can wear anything w/them
(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)?
I am not sure yet, we'll have to see! but I am guessing I will really love my moby wrap and maya sling... though the cloth diapers are so adorable when they are so tiny!!!

(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? Ashton has his two month check-up on the 19th. He will be getting his first shots which I am not too excited about. I just did the comparisons of what Kaiser recommends for 2 months and the ones we are going to have done. It looks like there is only two shots and then two more at three months.
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not? I'm not sure. I want to get the flu vaccine as I heard that the shot passes though the breast milk and that will help to protect Ashton. As for the H1N1, I don't think so..not enough research out there.
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item? Hum, this is a hard one since it changes. I guess it is the swing so far or the bouncy seat. Ashton hates baby slings/wraps (I have purchased 5 with another one on the way) and I was really hoping he would like them. He is so hot and nosey! He has to be held looking over the shoulder. He hates to be held like a "baby." Totally weird:-) I hope once he is a little bigger then the few other wraps I have will work since they face baby outward. It's hard to hold him and get things done during the day.
(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)? A blow dryer? Really, it is the only thing that kept him quiet during those first few weeks when he was just crying to cry. We are pretty low maintience..I bought everything, just don't use anything really. I don't use my boppy at all, the swing will get used some, as does the bouncy. Maybe once he is a little older I will have a cannot live without baby item.
(6) If you're blogging your experience as a mama or mama-to-be, post the link here. I am very shammed to post this, but here it is. http://thewinterbaby.blogspot.com/ I keep this for some family members so it's nothing special at all.

OMG Renee, he is getting SO big!! I can't believe it, time goes so fast. Bella will be 3 months old in a week. It's bittersweet really.
I also read that some of the immunity from the shot passes through the breastmilk. I'm going to get the shot and not the nasal version because my mom had cancer and can't be around live viruses, I'm curious if it's ok for other (you other mom's out there) to get the live one- be sure to tell them you have an infant just in case it's not safe!!
Does he have good neck control? If so you can use the moby and face him out. Bella now likes to have her legs dangling out the bottom of the moby. She ONLY likes the moby if I'm moving constantly. Today we raked leaves and I had her in the moby, she loved it and she even fell asleep!! Go figure!! I should've stopped and took a nap
Oh and about your blog, I started mine to keep up with family and friends and it just took off from there. Now I write about all sorts of things. Someday Ashton will appreciate it I'm sure!
just my 2 cents but the H1N1 vaccine isn't really so "new" that it needs to have a lot of research behind it... i feel like it is all the media hype...b/c truly every "regular" flu vaccine is "new" each year, it is developed based on the new strains that have developed...the H1N1 is just another strain of the flu so I don't see how it's really different from the 2009 regular flu vaccine that was developed for this winter and is also "new".... I dunno, that's just my thinking behind it.

1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? Feeling okay. Jaylee has started teething and rolling over. She is also babbling up a storm. LOVE it. I on the other hand got mastitis and i think the antibiotics is causing my supply to tank.. I hardly get enough for her when I pump at work. Still trying to lose all my pregnancy weight. Got about 10 lbs to go..
(2) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? I have an OBGYN appt. tomorrow and she has her 4 month check up on Thurs. Next round of shots..
(3) Hot topic: are you getting a flu and/or H1N1 vaccine this year? Why or why not? SInce I teach 1st grade my dr.recommends that i get the shot, Don't want Jaylee getting sick. I did get the shot last year when i was pregnant with Jaylee. Still thinking about the H1N1 vaccine.
(4) What is your favorite maternity clothing item or post-baby item?My awesome nursing bra. It's an Anita bra.I was a cute 36DD pre preg. and am now a 38 G. The girls have taken over my WHOLE body.. Well the bra and my early preggy jeans that I just got back into.
(5) What is your number one must-have, cannot-live-without item for baby (besides his or her health, of course)? My ERGO Baby Carrier. I am so big chested that the baby bjorn didn't work for me. I LOVE the ERGO, and it never fails Jaylee will fall asleep in no time flat when she's in it. She's going through the never wanting to be put down only falls asleep on my chest phase..
