when i do it i bread my own - soak the cut up okra pieces in a beaten egg, then toss around in seasoned cornmeal.

pretty much what AIDT said..
we grew our own okra and I just cut it up and froze it. I thaw out a bag in the fridge overnight (dont thaw out in microwave...it cooks it and get mushy, ugh) and then let it soak for about 15 mins in beaten egg and milk, then I just mix it up with cormeal and a little bit of bread crumbs and tonys.

ya know Brit, if you have too much okra, i have a freezer to put that in....heehee!!!
