October 2009 Weddings
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
I'm not sure our old board works anymore...
Re: I'm not sure our old board works anymore...
HA HA!
I just thought the normal response would be to say, "Let me go to the women on the board and ask what they want to do."
When we were still on the knot, someone tried to become mod about a month before the wedding, and it was shot down pretty quickly because that's not our dynamic.
Plus, there are plenty of boards without mods on the nest.
Well I sincerely apologize if that upsets anyone. It was never the intention. Nor did I realize it would be an issue. I understand there were problems with mods in the past on the TK board. I'm just here to make sure things don't go crazy. Not dictate the way things are done.
HA HA!
It's just VERY random because:
1. We did not have a mod to begin with.....don't really fell like we need one.
2. You didn't start posting on the Oct 09 board til October right? So we don't really know you.....like unfamiliar territory. Did you post a lot and the P and E board? Just feel like we should have gotten to vote on a mod or at least been informed that we would have one. I know the last time the Oct 09 board had a mod it did not go well.....at all....
Yeah we like anarchy here in the oct board, we just get along better that way and get uneasy with a "higher power" above us!
Even if you are a sweetheart, we still get uncomfortable, esp with someone we don't know too well and they just pop up one day as our controller. Its nothing personal, we would prob be this way with anyone.

The last thing I intended to do was start drama, honestly. I am the most anti-drama person you will meet. All I do on the other board I mod is start discussions when it gets slow. Otherwise, I participate in posts like everyone else if I have something to contribute.
If you don't want me as the mod, is there someone else you would rather see be a mod?
HA HA!
My Blog!
It's nothing personal....we don't do drama on this board, there is no drama. It's just the general concept of having a mod at all....we don't need one. Again not personal at all.
Just to clarify, we asked scoetto to be a moderator because she was familiar with the process. Moderators are not in place to change the dynamic, but to be your direct line to The Knot/The Nest when you are experiencing issues with the site. They do not have deleting or banning abilities on The Nest.
We also don't put moderators in place by members voting them in.
If someone would like to co-moderate with scoetto, feel free to email us at moderators@thenest.com
Gosh im gone for 1 day and everything has changed. This work stuff has got to go lol.
Damnit! I missed this whole conversation- that's what I get for taking a late lunch today!
Foto- You have SOO MANY POINTS!!!! I am super jealous
Millie- if these points get me anything free, I am going to post so much more. (I highly doubt they get us two penny to rub together though).
points check
Holy crap - do you not get credit for the previous posts??? I am such the loser.

I'm so proud that my post rolled into a second page and beyond. Yeah, you typically earn points from being on the Nest before. When I was selling my house, I posted a good bit. They add up quickly.
And as it relates to the mod situation - I don't really care either way. I think we've been pretty good about moderating ourselves.
