Would it make me a bad wife/mother/person to tell DH no to more kids? I mean, we did get married and I knew he wanted one more and he knew I wasn't thrilled about the thought of that. What's he going to do--leave because I won't have another one? It could strain our relationship sure, but I am the one who has to DO everything when it comes to actually having the baby????
(you know that once my little one turns 2, I will probably miss the baby stage again and give in anyways, plus I already have a kickass girls name picked out
?

I totally agree.
You are both so wise
Thanks!!!!!!?
If it helps at all, my mum says that the worst transition in terms of time management/lifestyle etc is from one to two kids, and you've already done that! She said that from two to three was a breeze (like, she almost didn't notice after the pregnancy/birth), but from three to four was tricky again.
I think the world deserves another gorg baby...

What's your name?
For realsies. If B got pissed at me for not wanting to have a child inside of me for another 9 months, living with morning sickness, stretch marks, weight gain, bewb sagging, etc. just during pregnancy, and then breastfeeding, diapering, clothing, holding, swaying, cleaning, etc. while it's on the outside, I'd pop him directly in the face. Motherhood is a fulltime job, and every man should realize that.
Give it time and see what happens in a few... you don't need to have kids super soon after each other. My sis is 8 years younger than I am (bro is 16 months older than me) and I adore her (and him, I guess).
I've heard this too. The transition from 1 to 2 about KILLED me. Honestly, worst and hardest time of my life. The babies are kind of asking for another one already too (my daughter said, "I want another Giorgia mama!" How do I argue with that??!) so I am sure I'll be outnumbered here soon in the near future.?
SLOAN!!! or SLOANE!!!
Very cute!
I have the most gorgeous red-headed friend named Sloane. Such a pretty name. But don't worry, I won't steal it. As much as I love Irish names, they don't blend well with my new super Jewish last name. Blerg.

I have the same problem Choo. The only problem is I like O names but my very Jewish last name is O. I don't want to be the parents that name thier kids Joe Jones.
It's always appealed to me, ever since Ferris Bueller, and now on Entourage...it's like the gorgeous, cool girl's name so it has good connotations for me too. I don't mind if anyone steals
LOL at Blerg.?
Not that I ever seriously considered leaving DH over it, but I've literally had to give up every name that I like because of his last name. I mean, I didn't consider leaving him for more than five minutes...
My maiden name is SUPER Irish. Most of the baby names I love are super Irish. None of them work with his last name. We've settled on a girl name (which is French, and I love it), but I feel like no part of my heritage is reflected. I don't know how I feel about that.

This is hard. Can you have an Irish middle name? We named our daughter Giorgia (spelled Italian for me, my H's home state). Thought it was a great compromise. But it is important to have both of you reflected also, I completely get that. ?
Hilarious. One of my BFF's just used Simone. It is much more exotic than Kari, LOL.?
That is the plan, but it just doesn't really seem like a big compromise on his part. But my MIL is going to think he 'won,' which irks me. In reality, none of the names I like go with his last name, and I know that. Except Carrington (Carrie), which I love and he hates. Hates.

I've got a name in mind that I love and he hates. Hates. I even compromised to say we'd name a daughter after his mother and shorten it to the name I love as a nickname. He still says no dice.
Why are men so unreasonable? I mean, we're the ones who have to push the thing out!
What is the name? My DH has vetoed Carrington - like he has that power...

I adore the name Lindy. I even said we could name her Melinda in honor of his mother and call her Lindy as a nickname. No go for now, but I still have plenty of time.
I love Carrington and generally love all last names as first names.
A-dorable. Hopefully your mister will change his mind.
Carrington is awesome. My DH is an idiot. I told him if he hated it so much, he could just call her Carrie (which he likes) and forget about it. Grr.

Hopefully he'll come around too. Or we could each change our minds...
I love the name Sloan... its been on my short list for a girl or a boy for years. I also love the name Kaden but one of my good friends at home just used it, not 100% off the table but most likely. I also love Olivia for a girl and Colton for a boy but DH vetoed them both. We really haven't agreed on anything yet.
DH also goes by his middle name, as do all the guys in his family, because their first names are their fathers middle names (that they go by). Its confusing and annoying and I refuse to do it to my child. I say we use DH's middle name as our son's middle name to pass it along instead. We haven't agreed on that one yet either.

First of all, I don't think I mentioned this before, but Choo--your mom sounds like a Saint!
Second, I HEART Carrington (tell him to call her Carrie and get over it!) We call our daughter George for pete's sakes--nicknames are used more often than real names sometimes anyways. No one EVER calls me my real, full name.?
Thirdly, Lindy is adorable. Maybe he will warm up to Melinda. I was actually toying with Melinda as the middle name for mine (it's D's mom's middle name and G already has my mom's middle name).?
My H totally warmed up to Holden--after 2 years. Keep working on him
?
I know. Sigh. I usually get my way so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I think it is such a freaking cool name!

My H goes by his middle name too! And his dad goes by something completely unrelated to either of his names. Funny!?
It is unique, but easy to spell and pronounce. It's a very modern, classy name IMO. My little nephew's girlfriend is named Carrington and it's just a great name. I think you will be able to convince him eventually!!! Like I said, my H warmed up to Holden after 2 years...Stick with it!!?
