how crazy is it? i know it's a huge race, but how's transportation to/from the start/finish with the shuttles, etc? i know DH won't want to do it due to the number of people, but i'm considering it...

Re: cooper river bridge run?
This will be our 3rd year and we love it...of course I won't be running it this year. I think it's extremely organized considering 40,000 are running and downtown Charleston is so small. They have been doing it for so long it runs really smooth.
I don't know where you plan on staying, but we have always stayed downtown by the market and taken the bus shuttles to Mt. Pleasant. The line does seem pretty long, but it goes pretty quick. I also suggest signing up for the fastest seeding you think you'll place in. I notice lots of walkers in the 45 min-1 hour group.
This is probably my favorite race...the people, scenery, and a little vacay every year to Charleston!
