Ummmm $800 on shoes?

So I was just on the F&B board and this post caught my eye....well it actually made me go "WHAT??????"....I know some are more into fashion than others... I know we all have different budgets...but all of my shoes are from Dillards and Payless, and DSW....and yes I have to stop myself at a certain price yes....but $800??? I could buy a whole new wardrobe for $800!
Would you spend $800 on a pair of black heels? Especially if you were a mom? Ok if i were Victoria Beckham I would, but I'm not.

NO WAY! The average price to free a child from forced prostitution or slavery is $600... how could I spend that much on a pair of shoes knowing if I gave that much someone would have a FREE life?
Sorry if anyone here would spend that much, but it seriously makes my heart sad...

It's an honest question from me. I have ZERO fashion knowledge, so those designers literally mean nothing to me.
If I had $800, I could think of many things I'd do before I bought shoes. But I recognize some people have that kind of money to throw around.

I've never even spent $80 on a pair of shoes! I cannot imagine even thinking of spending anywhere near that on shoes as a mom! She should be ashamed of herself!

I know nothing about those "brands" that they were talking about... who freaking cares about the inside label of your shoes?! They're shoes - you walk on them all day! Geez...
Wow - I didn't even spend $800 on our new couch. I spent $15 on my wedding day shoes... there again, I'm the thriftiest person ever.
I am certainly snooty about some things, but I think spending that kinda money is too much. I'd rather buy a camera lense.
