... that totally reminded me of this article I read in People Magazine last year. It was about a couple on the complete opposite end of the spectrum - they were committed to having sex every single day for a whole year.
It started out because the husband was turning 40 and the wife wanted to give him something memorable. So, she decided to gift him daily sex for 1 year.
She wrote a book about it > 365 Night: A Memoir of Intimacy

ETA: I meant to ask - do you think you could commit to that? I thought about doing that after reading the article... but honestly, I don't think I could do it every day for a year. The couple said they averaged about 28 days a month... that is a bit much for us. We average about 12-15 days a month.

I'm pretty sure that's not TOO unreasonable of something to commit to. Sex doesn't necessarily mean intercourse... so even when we're on our periods... well, like Ron white says "just because the ride is broken, doesn't mean they shut down the whole amusement park". I mean I think its a little unrealistic to EXPECT, but Its a goal I can see myself making. My fiance and I have sex most every day, we have times when its only a few times a week tho too... but even if we're not having sex, we still at least try to keep the intimacy going and tease each other all day or something.
On the other hand too though, FORCING yourself to have sex would probably somewhat ruin your sex drive in general... I personally like sex to be spontaneous, and hot and heavy, I would not want it to feel like a job. So meh, theres two sides to everything I suppose.
Definitely no on the period thing Just a complete no fly zone and I don't even want to be touched! its not something DH or I are willing to do, we both can wait. I also can't imagine having sex everyday. Do these people work that have it everyday? With the hours DH and I work, we are lucky if we get it in once a week, and that is being scheduled. I dont even think we have it more then 6 times a month, no time.
If I'm bloated, cramping, and feeling pissy, the whole damn amusement park is closed, and DH needs to 'handle' things on his own. Pun definitely intended.
No way I could commit to having sex every day. Not even every other day.
My sex drive is at its best while menstruating. Don't know why, it just is. Doesn't stop me from anything.

I'm a bit curious too... i know every female is different but from what ive read, our sex drives in general are supposed to be highest when were ovulating... for obvious reasons. Maybe those of us with normally high sex drives are even higher when we menstruate because of the thought that we can't (or most of the time wont) have sex for those days? Kinda like the whole wanting something you can't have kinda thing.? lol
I'd love to at least give it a try - sadly with a baby on the way we know it's going to be pretty infrequent for quite a while.
As for periods - we're big fans of shower sex.

No problem. Lots of athletes, military personal, strippers etc all use this method.
Usually doesn't work with tri-phasic pills. (spelling, sorry).
it is healthy for the most part... to play it safe they usually reccomend leting your body have one every three months or so... but my doctor told me, if your body needs to menstrate, it will. with or without the pills
