Hi Ladies

Wondering if I can be the new kid on the block. Recently I have been poking around The Nest boards and came across your group. I share a Novermber 2008 wedding date, 11/15 to be exact. You guys seem like a fun and supportive group of friends. I don't want to intrude but would love to have an outlet of friendship and support that an e-community can offer.

A little about me, my name is Athena. It is just my DH, our dog, Sam, and me. We want to add a little one to the family but it isn't going as easily as we expected. We live in Indianapolis. I work for a music company as a systems analyst.

Ask away if there is anything specific that you would like to know.

I understand I am coming in late to a close knit group so if you want you can just tell me to butt out. Embarrassed

Re: Hi Ladies

  • Hi Athena!

    We're wedding date twins!

I'm Jen, my DH is Jon, we've got 2 dogs, 2 cats and a baby on the way.I'm and unemployed structural engineer, Dh is a computer nerd (my sugar daddy for the time being).

Sadly you aren't the only one here going through fertility stuff.  It took my Dh and I a year and a loss to get to this point.  We're a great group for TTC support too.

Just so you know we're planning a get-together in New Orleans in October (those are the NOLA posts below).

    What else...what else...

I went to Purdue, so I am slightly familiar with Indy.  I live in Minneapolis now though.

Some of us have blogs so you can read a bit about our lives...we do daily (most days) posts about random stuff...there's a getting fit/eating well grouplett...and a descent amount of daily activity here.

Hope to get to know you more!

I'm Elizabeth and live with DH and Miller (our chocolate lab) in Williamsburg.  We are a Navy family, and luckily DH is land based for the next year or so.  I'm originally from Va Beach and DH is from Houston.  We got married on 11/22/08.

We'd love to have you in our Novembie family!

  • Welcome welcome!  You couldn't have picked a better month to be married, if only so you could join this awesome group of women.  Smile

I'm Kristen, and my husband Dave and I were married 11/1//08.  We're huge Gator fans (me probably more so than D), and are excitedly expecting the arrival of "GatorBaby" in July.

Look forward to getting to know you!

  • Welcome, Athena!  Athena is one of my favorite names.  This is a great group of very smart, very kind ladies with some powerful vibes if they are ever needed!

I am Aria.  My DH "J" and I had our honeymoon baby on July 31.  We have a Jack Russell named Ginger and an AmStaff named Rawlings.  We are in the process of buying our first home.  We currently live in Orange County, CA, but we're going to move further inland.  We're originally from San Diego.  I'm in HR for a large international law firm in Downtown LA.  J is waiting on a job opportunity that we should hear back on in a day or two.  I have a blog, but I am lazy about updating!  A lot of us are connected on FB, too.

(And this string of summary intro posts has been really interesting!)

  • I really appreciate the welcomes. And I am glad to hear that the Novembie Vibes are strong. I can definitely use them from time to time. I've gone back through several of the older posts and really like what I see.

I'm Katie.  My husband is Ron, we have an almost 6 month old daughter that I call Bebe.  We have a cattledog and bulldog, and live in south Orange County.  I manage a veterinary hospital.  :)

  • Hi Athena! (I also love your name, BTW)

I'm Patty and I live in Southern California with my DH (Tommy). We were married on 11-8-08 and we are now a few months into our TTC process (and already stressed and frustrated with it). I work at an orthodontic office and my DH and I love sports.....but rival teams :)

Welcome to the best board on the nest!

  • It sounds like a 12 step program in here. LOL!
  • Hi and welcome! This is the best group of girls and more are always welcome!

I'm Kirsten from Philadelphia. Our wedding was 1/1/08, and it seems so long ago! I am a hairstylist who is currently pulling my hair out looking for our first house!

Hi, I'm Wendi, and I'm a Novembie.  LOL!

I'm the old lady of the group. Got married November 28, 2008. I live in Western Kansas with DH, Redneck.  We have 6 kids together from previous marriages - stepdaughter S is 16, son A is 16, stepson T is 13, stepdaughter K is 12, daughter B is 10, and daughter C is 9.  Only B and C live with us full time.  A visits every other weekend as his busy social/work calendar allows.  The stepkids are all in Iowa and we see the youngest as much as we can - the oldest 2 are the subject of a very messy legal case right now, we haven't seen them in almost 3 years now.  Yeah, I live in a soap opera.  We also have 3 cats - Talladega, Pocono, and Daytona, and a dog named Lexus.

Welcome to the group - we have a lot of truly amazing women here who I have come to love over the time I've been here.

  • Hi Athena!!!

I'm Chelsea, DH is B.  We live in Indy also! Where around town are you?

I'm a special education assistant in Pike Township, DH does video graphics for the Motor Speedway...so we're very busy in May!

We have a cat with three feet, Hobbes, and a puppy named Rhodey. No kids, no solid plans for TTC but we talk about it openly, and are looking forward to the day we know we're ready. We own a house on the northwest side, near Michigan and 86th.

     Welcome to the board!

  • Ditto pp, I love your name Athena! My name is Amy, my DH is Patrick, and we reside in central Iowa.  We were married Nov 8, 2008.  I'm not currently working, I returned to school last year to pursue my practical nursing degree.  Patrick works in a lab concerned with animal health (mostly livestock).  We own our own home (a 1950's ranch that we are remodeling little by little) and have a sweet 3 1/2 yr. old female doberman named Nika.  Welcome to the board! :)
  • Hi Athena!  Love your siggy pic of your doggie by the way.  I'm Karrey.  My husband is Drew. We are date twins also.  We live in Baton Rouge, LA and are diehard LSU and SAINTS fans.  I am an office manager for an environmental consulting firm and D is an executive chef.  We have two very bad rotten dogs Jezzabell and Daisy. We have been TTC since July 2007 and are headed to the fertlity specialist this month (some of our journey is in the blog).

I look forward to getting to know you more.  These ladies are wonderful.

  • Hi Athena!  Welcome to the Novembie board!

My name is Carli, DH (Gil) and I live in Naples, FL and we are expecting a little girl in Mid March.  The Novembies are AWESOME and we have a great time on this board!

DH and I are working with a fertility specialist as well. We got as far as one unsuccessful IUI. DH had cancer a few years ago and the chemo caused some problems. I have just been diagnosed with diabetes so we had to put a hold on IUI #2 for a few months at least. It was very discouraging but know it is better to have things under control.

  • Welcome! I'm a little late to the game but I don't nest too much on the weekends. My name is Kim and DH and I were married on 11/22/08. We live with our two pups and our cat. Our dog Kieran is a black lab mix as well and he looks a lot like your pup. We live in Pittsburgh, PA which is currently covered in about two feet of snow. I am a special education teacher and DH is an educational specialist for the county. I look forward to seeing your posts and getting to know more about you!

Oh wow that is discouraging.  I hope you can join us and get your share of these powerful Novembie vibes.  They have proven to be pretty useful from time to time.  We are a pretty open book here so feel free to vent or share about anything.

  • Hi Athena!! I am SO late to this!

I'm Dana, my DH, Matt, and I got married 11/1/08. I'm from Southern California... We have 2 kitties, Zeek & Cali. M is a pro wrestler and just signed with TNA Wrestling. I'm going into my 2nd week at my new job as a Leasing Consultant for an apartment complex. (Which is why I'm so late to posting on this! I'm not allowed to Nest from work Crying) We both have baby fever EXTREMELY bad and were TTC for about 2 months recently, but bc of my new job, we're putting it on hold again for a while until we're settled into our fairly new jobs.

This group of women ("Novembies") is absolutely incredible, the Novembie vibes are indeed a very powerful thing and have helped quite a bit! Welcome to the group, hope to "see" you around here more often!

Welcome to the best board on the nest!!

  • I'm a mostly non-weekend nester as well, so I'll join the late welcomes!
